THE MOST HOLY TRINITY – JUNE 16, 2019 (YEAR C)
MMMMISSION ISSION ISSION ISSION SSSSTATEMENTTATEMENTTATEMENTTATEMENT: We, the people of God of Our Lady of the Assumption parish, are a uniquely gifted people of Cape Verdean heritage. We share a common belief in a God whose love is unconditional and whose dream is that every man, woman and child grow to full potential through the Paschal Mystery. We believe that the foundation of our faith lies in the very act of creation in which the human dignity of each person is born. We understand that we are called to be actively involved in the mission of Jesus. Service to this mission is our way of travelling together on the journey to our God as one body in union with the whole Church.

"But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak
what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what
is mine and declare it to you." - Jn 16:13-14 Excerpts from the Lectionary for Mass ©2001, 1998, 1970 CCD.
Today’s readings proclaim that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are always acting out of love for humanity. Divine wisdom finds delight in God’s creation of the human race. Jesus promises his disciples that the Spirit will guide them in truth. Saint Paul points out that the Holy Spirit has poured the love of God into our hearts.

LIVE THE LITURGY - INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK We believe in one God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The reality that God is three distinct Persons yet One is something that is difficult for the mind to grasp. But, understanding God in this way is not impossible for the contemplative heart. We need only to look around us to see our triune God playing and interplaying with all of creation with each of His Persons manifesting itself. God our Father abounds in and through creation. God the Son beats in every human heart, in love, in tenderness of mercy, and in our neighbor. God the Holy Spirit breathes life into all things and guides the course of time and the seasons, bringing wisdom and guidance to all things. Breathe in the height and depth of God's triune presence and may your heart contemplate His presence and glory.
Question of the Week Since the love of God has been poured out into my heart through the Holy Spirit, what can I do to share that love with others? How can I challenge myself to be more selfless and generous?
Please remember in your prayers those who
have asked for our caring support:

This coming weeekend, we will take up the Collection for the Church in Latin America. For many in Latin America and the Caribbean, a rising secular culture, difficult rural terrain, and a shortage of ministers present obstacles to practicing the faith. Your support to the collection provides lay leadership training, catechesis, priestly and religious formation, and other programs to share our faith with those who long to hear
the Good News of Christ. To learn more about how you can make a difference, please visit www.usccb.org/latin-america.

SEE ALL THE…HOPE FOR OUR FUTURE. SEE ALL THE…HOPE FOR OUR FUTURE. SEE ALL THE…HOPE FOR OUR FUTURE. SEE ALL THE…HOPE FOR OUR FUTURE. This year’s
78th Catholic Charities Appeal theme is “See All the People,” inviting us to bear witness to the many ways our generous gifts today help ensure a brighter tomorrow. The agencies and apostolates supported by the Appeal provide opportunities for the youth of our Diocese to grow in their faith, while establishing and deepening lifelong Catholic values. Your Appeal gift makes invaluable experiences possible, such as campus ministry, scouting, the St. Vincent de Paul Program at Cathedral Camp, and youth programs and services. Make your secure gift or pledge online today at www.givefrdiocese.org/cca19. “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.” (Luke 6:38). To date, our parish has donated $3,085.00

This is a support group to help people cope with the loss of a loved one. Losing someone we love truly hurts. Leaving us with so many unanswered questions and a multitude of conflicting emotions. At first, we may turn to family and friends to share our grief; but as time goes on, we may find it difficult to reach out to them. It becomes difficult for them to understand our feelings. The group meets on Tuesdays from 7-9pm at the Catholic Education Center, 423 Highland Ave. Fall River, MA – Contact Rose Mary Saraiva at 508-678-2828 ext. 27 for more information.
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR Wednesday, September 18: Seniors Day of Reflection. Bus will leave at 8AM and will return at 4PM. Saturday, October 12: 11AM Mass Day of Reflection. Bus will also leave at 8AM and return at 4PM. Both Retreats will take place at Miramar Retreat Center in Duxbury, MA. More information will follow at a later date.
