Dear OLP Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year at Our Lady of Peace! It is a great time to embrace ALL that we are here at OLP. We hope you all had a fan-tastic summer, and hope you are ready to begin another year of learning! Father Joseph, the staff and I are anxious to see all of you and begin a new journey through a year that is promised to be filled with community, col-laboration and education the OLP way.

This year, our theme for the school year is……

Anchored in Christ! The anchor is a symbol of hope and safety. Christ is the unfailing hope of all who believe in him. He is the anchor of our soul. We will focus on living as Christ did – growing spiritually and becoming more like Jesus everyday. In all we set forth to accomplish this year, we will strive to serve and treat oth-ers as if we are serving Christ.

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure! -Hebrews 6:19

Even though we all may have challenges and hard times (rough seas) Jesus has a firm hold on us.

So, get ready for an AWESOME School Year OLP!

Fr. Joseph Mandokkara Augustine and Mrs. Maureen Kerr look forward to seeing everyone on Covenant Night August 21st. Attire is dressy casual. Covenant Night has always been a special evening set for our stu-dents and their parents to start the school year a step ahead. Stu-dents bring in all of their supplies, meet their teacher, and get everything settled in their classroom, so the next morning all of our children from K-8th grade are ready to start an exciting school year well prepared and organized. This year we will again begin with Mass at 5:30 p.m. All OLP families are to attend this special Mass—so put it on your calendar as your top priority. Let’s celebrate as a school family and pray for a blessed school year. Our new families will arrive at 5 p.m. to the school. Returning families will go into the school after Mass. We’re excited for a year to declare every day that we are set out to be Anchored in Christ!

Panther Pride—Athletic News to Note

Arrivals and Dismissals for 2019-2020 Ohio and Marshall County buses arrive at three different times. If your child is a bus rider, please

confirm their schedules with your county school transportation director. All students who arrive between 7:30-8 a.m. will report to the gym through the Peace Family Center

door. A teacher is assigned for early morning duty (students should not arrive before 7:30 am). Students will report to their rooms after 8 a.m.

All students must be in school by 8:10 a.m. Morning prayers and classes begin at 8:15 a.m.

Parents, please be mindful and respect this school rule. Call the school office to report an absence or late arrival. Dismissal begins at 2:50 p.m. for our first Marshall County bus pick up. Students who walk home or

are being picked up by an authorized adult will be dismissed by grade after the first bus departs. For later bus pick ups and late parent pick ups students will report to “Bus Duty” (either an assigned

classroom/gym) until bus departs at 3:40pm. Students not picked up by that time will go to After Care and corresponding fees apply.
