    Steward Reflection: Resolutions

Generations of faith-filled Catholic people have passed on to us the most precious gift that we possess

the gift of faith. As this generations good stewards, we are obligated to pass on the gift of faith to our

    children.

Children primarily learn through the examples of their parents. Today, many parents are volunteering

their time and talents to their churches and community groups and bringing their children along with them.

More and more churches are encouraging children to return a portion of their treasures - their allowanceor other earnings - with special childrens offering envelopes. As we know from our own experience, it

takes a lifetime to develop the habits of good stewardship.

God has blessed us in so many marvelous ways. Stewardship is a way of life built around gratitude to

God, lived out by returning a portion of the time, talent and treasure allotted to us. There is no more pre-

cious inheritance we can pass on to our children than this lifestyle of gratitude.

If you will give these instructions you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the words

of the faith and of the sound teaching you have followed. (1Timothy 4:6)

Stewardship Appeal UpdateOur Stewardship Appeal is being well received by the people of Our Lady of Peace. To date 162

households have indicated an increase in their weekly contribution in response to our stewardship of treas-

ure program. This represents an approximate increase of 8% in contributions from those that responded.

Please use the special Stewardship envelope to indicate your new level of giving, and then return to

your regular envelope packet for succeeding weeks. If you are interested in receiving information on our

Electronic Giving Program, please contact the parish office.

    EW LECTORS TO BE ISTALLED

On Sunday, February 10 at the 10:30 a.m. Mass four new lectors will

be officially installed by our Pastor Fr. Bill. The are: Justin Cre-

scione, Kelly Donahue, Katie Mercanti and Zofia Monczki

They are young and will give new energy to a very important Minis-

try in the service of church and parish: Proclaiming Gods Word to

    the people.

Most OLP lectors have been serving for many years It would be de-

sirable to have replacements available for those wishing to retire or

unable to continue serving for other reasons. We extend a warm wel-

come to the new lectors and give special thanks to those who have

been faithful in their commitment to this day.

We ask anyone interested in this ministry and seeking a deeper under-

standing of Scriptures to leave name phone number and/or email ad-

dress at the Rectory. They will be contacted, given more information

and offered appropriate training. Thanks you and God bless!
