Dear Parishioners, It has been such a pleasure living at Our Lady of Loretto again, following my years from 1986 to 1992 as your Parochial Vicar. You have welcomed me into your lives again, and I have felt your warmth and your kindness. These past two years have been an opportunity for new spiritual growth in my life, and I am grateful to you. As a retired priest of the Archdiocese, I am not bound by an appointment letter to a parish, and I look forward to making changes from time to time. While I am still healthy and relatively able-bodied, I would like to experience life at another Marin parish, and have requested a move to nearby Saint Isabella. Fr. Mark Reburiano has let me know that he would also be pleased with this arrangement, and so I will be heading a little further south. I’ve been ordained for 50 years, and after an initial 12 years of ministry in Camden, New Jersey following my ordination for the Diocese of Camden, I have served in the Archdiocese of San Francisco for the past 38 years, with 30 years in Marin County at Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Rita and Saint Anselm. Clearly, I have found my home among all of you, and I look forward to continuing many relationships with friends in the County as I unpack my bags in Terra Linda and join Fr. Mark. Please keep me in your prayers, and know that I will keeping you and your intentions in mine as well. God bless each of you, and each of our beautiful Marin parishes. Fondly, Father Neil Healy March 27, 2017

F A Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence.
For members of the Latin Catholic Church, the norms on fasting
are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person
is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals
that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning
abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin
Catholic Church from age 14 onwards.
Members of the Eastern Catholic Churches are to observe the
particular law of their own sui iuris Church.
If possible, the fast on Good Friday is continued until the Easter
Vigil (on Holy Saturday night) as the "paschal fast" to honor the
suffering and death of the Lord Jesus, and to prepare ourselves
to share more fully and to celebrate more readily his Resurrec-
tion.
Ayuno y Abstinencia
