In conjunction with our Fall Fiesta, OLG is asking for participation in the $100

Club. Donations can be made in 4 monthly installments of $25.00 each if it is not

possible to donate all at once. Please make sure to pick up your green envelopes

located at the entrance of the Church.

Fr. Francisco’s Weekly Reflection

In Matthew’s Gospel Jesus states, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your

souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (11:28-30). He is inviting his disciples and us to entrust

our joys and hardship upon him. Many times, people think that they must carry everyone else’s cross and

that can be a great burden. But, the reality is that we cannot carry anyone’s cross for them, we can help

them like Simon the Cyrene helped Jesus, but at some point, Simon had to let go and Jesus took it the rest of

the way. We are not the Lord; it is he who has taken all our sins and placed it on the cross during his crucifix-

ion. Leave it there with Him, and offer our friends, family members, and acquaintances with Jesus. Recently,

I have received the question, “Father, how do you do it? How to carry all these things that are going on, and

what you hear from people every day?” My answer is simple, “I leave it with Jesus.” Jesus is the one who

has carried our cross with him to and on calvary. It is not mine to carry. Does that mean I do not care or do

not help people? Of course, I care and help people, but I cannot carry their burdens for them. Jesus can and

does if we let him. May our hearts rest and trust in Jesus! Our Lady of Guadalupe…Ora pro nobis!

Reflexion Semanal del Padre Francisco

En el Evangelio de Mateo, Jesús dice: "Vengan a mí los que van cansados, llevando pesadas cargas, y yo los

aliviaré. Carguen con mi yugo y aprendan de mí, que soy paciente y humilde de corazón, y sus almas encon-

trarán descanso. Pues mi yugo es suave y mi carga liviana."(11: 28-30). Jesús invita a sus discípulos y a no-

sotros a confiarle nuestras alegrías y dificultades. Muchas veces, las personas piensan que deben llevar

la cruz de todos los demás y eso puede ser una gran carga. Sin embargo, la realidad es que no podemos car-

gar la cruz de nadie por ellos, podemos ayudarlos como Simón el Cirineo ayudó a Jesús, pero en algún mo-

mento, Simón tuvo que soltarlo y Jesús lo tomó por el resto del camino. No somos el Señor; es Él quien

tomó todos nuestros pecados y los colocó en la cruz durante su crucifixión. Déjalo todo allí con Él y ofrécele

tus amigos, familiares y conocidos a Jesús. Recientemente, recibí la pregunta: "Padre, ¿cómo lo haces?

¿Cómo llevar todas estas cosas que están sucediendo y lo que escuchas de la gente todos los días? Mi

respuesta es simple: "Se lo dejo a Jesús". Jesús es quien ha llevado nuestra cruz con Él hacía y en el calvario.

¿Eso significa que no me importa o no ayudo a las personas? Por supuesto que no, yo me preocupo y ayudo

a las personas, pero no puedo cargar con sus cruces. Jesús puede y lo hace si lo dejamos. ¡Que nuestros co-

razones descansen y confíen en Jesús! Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe... Ora pro nobis!
