Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Mission Statement

Rooted in the gospel, we are a Christ centered community guided by the Holy Spirit, embracing a future full

of hope, empathy and compassion, reaching out to all, especially the marginalized, seniors and the youth.

From the Pastor’s Pen Dear Parishioners, visitors, neighbours and friends, MERRY CHRISTMAS 2018.

With deep joy and gratitude, I extend to you my prayerful best wishes

for a holy and blessed Christmas. During this Advent Season, it has been

my prayer that each of you would find opportunities to reflect on your

own faith and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and His Church.

Whatever it is that our hearts and souls desire, whether we realize it or

not, our ultimate desire is Jesus Himself, for this reason, we are filled

with joy and consolation at Christmas to know that all that we hoped for

has been fulfilled in the person of the Christ Child.

Without Christmas, our lives would be unbearable!

That Baby in the manger is the light of our world! The infant Jesus is the

breathing sign that God loves us and he wants to be with us all the days

of our lives.

Christmas is the living promise that we are never alone. No matter

where we are in life, no matter what condition we find ourselves, no

matter how far we might stray away, or how unfaithful we are, God, will

pursue us in love for eternity!

From the Parish Team and Parish Staff of Our Lady of Gua-dalupe we extend to you and your families, A Merry

Christmas.

May the Peace, Love and Joy of the Christ Child fill your

hearts and bring you and your family’s joy!

Our Lady of Guadalupe Home for Mothers

Many have been asking about our next Benefit Din-ner. Our committee has met and determined the date, so I’m asking you to SAVE THE DATE!

What: Our Lady of Guadalupe Home’s very own Benefit Dinner

When: Friday, May 3, 2019

Where: To be determined Thank you to all who have been so very supportive of Our Lady of Guadalupe Home over the years. As most of you know, we pay staff 24/7 and 365 days a year, but we receive no government funding. From the very beginning we have depended entirely on God’s Provi-dence to do this necessary work. (We’re the only resi-dence for pregnant and new mothers in crisis and their young babies from here to St. Thomas). From the day we opened our doors in 2014 until now, the Lord has provided everything we need. He has used generous people like you do accomplish it. You are an absolutely crucial part of Our Lady of Guadalupe Home.

We are so grateful for you, and we pray for our donors and supporters every single day.

Please remember to pray our prayer every day for the success of this work:

“Thy will be done, Lord:

Nothing more; Nothing less.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us!”

Giving Tree

This year, the parishioners of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church opened their hearts to

33 needy families.

I would like to personally thank all those who took a tag, made a donation, or contributed in

any way to make this year’s Giving Tree a success. Special thanks go to those who

assisted me with this wonderful opportunity:

Claudette Lemire, Judy Edwards, Ruth Coyle, Jane Bailey, Janet Janisse, Mike Lemire and his dedicated drivers, Anne Marie Brode, Elsi Halla-

han, our secretary Donna Marcotte and our custodian, Dan Gobbo. As a parish, we made

Christmas more special for these families and gained a deeper understanding of the spirit of

the Birth of Jesus. Merry Christmas to all!
