“If you want to be happy for a lifetime and beyond, seek the will of God for your life. Don’t overwhelm yourself.
Seek it one day at a time, one moment at a time, one decision at a time.”

INVITING OTHERS TO EXPERIENCE ALPHA
MAY BE THE GIFT THAT CHANGES LIVES!
ALPHA COME AND SEE DINNER
- THIS MONDAY, JAN 23 -
Most of us know others who Jesus loves, but don’t yet know it.
They may even be antagonistic. Perhaps they are close friends
or in-laws.
Is it fear that holds us back from bringing them closer, when an
inner voice tells us we should?
Alpha is a gentle and respectful experience that changes lives.
Why not first talk to God about your friend and then invite your
friend to the Alpha Dinner.
If nothing else, they’ll enjoy a good meal in good company and
at least they’ll thank you for that!
Why not take a friend out to dinner?
If you are not sure,
but would like to know more,
come and explore.
For more information and to register, visit our webpage:

before registering, please contact us.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY
Children’s Liturgy for youngsters 4 to 9 will resume during
Lent—March 5 to April 16.
For questions, contact Jolene at:
In the meantime, why not introduce your older children to a
copy of the Sunday Missal for Young Catholics 2016-2017
located in a box at the main entrance of the church. Let them
follow the parts of the mass in a format designed just for them.
Have a look at it yourself, and consider if you would find it use-
ful to own your own copy. If there is enough interest in the
parish, we will place an order for copies next year.

WHAT HAPPENS TO AN OBJECT WHEN IT IS BLESSED?
A blessing on an object is a prayer that praises God for the act
of creating this object and implores that the object be used for
his greater glory. “Among sacramentals, blessings of persons,
meals, objects and places come first. Every blessing praises
God and prays for his gifts in Christ.” (CCC 1671). There is a
special shelf in the sacristy for objects to be blessed. Ask the
sacristan to put your salt, oil, sacramental on the shelf for one
of our priests to bless.

MAINTENANCE OF ST MARY’S CHURCH
Have you noticed how nice and fresh our temple of worship is
looking? Have you noticed that our windows are being repaired
little by little? That there are no more holes in the walls of the
ladies’ washroom and that it is freshly painted? Keep watching
for more repairs and improvements, floors for example.
A church well cared for is a place of welcome and comfort.

ADORATION CHAPEL
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Christ's Peace be with you!
This Holy Thursday will mark 30 years since Father Bob
opened our Adoration Chapel. These 30 years of continued
Adoration at St Mary's is an amazing feat considering the dis-
tances our adorers have travelled to keep their committed
hour.
In response to Father Sean's letter (copies are still available
outside the Adoration Chapel), we are asking for a renewed
commitment to our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Please
prayerfully consider which hour Jesus would like you to spend
with Him... In order to keep our current hours open, we require
two committed adorers for each hour. Otherwise, we will have
to start limiting the hours of adoration (to only those hours with
two committed adorers). The chapel itself however will remain
open.
This is a decisive time for our Chapel. Please contact our new
head coordinators David and Helen Arsenault at:
(613)728-9811 ext702 or [email protected]
Thank you for your continued and renewed commitment!
Your brother in Christ with Mary and Joseph,
Christopher
