INFORMATION GUIDE
BEAUTIFUL & UNIQUE ACCOMMODATION RAW Travel has carefully hand-picked quality accommodation for you to enjoy on the Spanish, Le Puy and Portuguese Coastal Camino routes.
We offer a mix of comfortable, historic and intimate accommodations in the most excellent locations.
Wherever possible, we use historic hotels and avoid modern properties. Our places to stay have ambience and character to enjoy, with the most welcoming hosts who deliver comfort and outstanding service.
All of the accommodations that we book have en-suite bathrooms. We do not use albergues or dorm properties on our trips.
Breakfast is included at the properties on all of our itineraries.
The type of accommodation available is different on each Camino route, but all of the places we book offer a unique, welcoming and memorable experience.
Having your quality accommodation pre-booked ensures that you will have a good night’s rest and get the most out of your Camino adventure.

SPANISH CAMINOAccommodation on the Spanish Camino offers you the
chance to stay in some of the world's most elegant and
historic hotels. There is a great deal of variety on this
Camino, ranging from small family run hotels to boutique
luxury properties.
In some smaller places we use Casa Rurales, which are
like bed and breakfasts. Typically, these are family
homesteads that have been renovated and give you an
authentic Spanish experience, staying with a family and
enjoying their wonderful hospitality.
Some hotels are located off the Camino trail. In these
cases, you will be picked up from the Camino and
dropped back in the morning to continue your walk.
Paradors are dotted on the Spanish Camino in four
locations: Santo Domingo La Calzada, Leon (closed for
renovations until 2019), Villa Franca Del Bierzo and
Santiago de Compostela.
Paradors are historical buildings of significance such as
monasteries or hospitals that have been refurbished into
luxury boutique hotels. They provide a once-in-a-lifetime
experience with first-class service, excellent facilities and
gourmet dining.

PORTUGUESE COASTAL CAMINO
Our accommodation options on the Portuguese Coastal
Camino range from clean and comfortable hotels to
impressive historic hotels and Paradors.
This Camino crosses Portugal and Spain. In the
Portuguese section of the walk you will find traditional
Portuguese hotels, which are typically bright and
colourful with lots of character. Warm and friendly hosts
are there to greet and look after you, and you will enjoy
central locations, excellent facilities and comfort.
Once you enter the Spanish section of the Portuguese
Coastal Camino there are many beautiful manor houses
that have been converted into hotels. These are
commonly named ‘Pazos'.
The Pazos are often located off the Camino trail, so the
owners of the hotels will collect you and drop you back to
the trail in the morning.
This Camino also has a couple of Paradors. The Parador
in Baiona is one of the most impressive Paradors of
Spain, housed in a Galician mansion with astonishing
views across the Atlantic Ocean.
The Parador in Pontevedra, which was once a residence
of the counts of Maceda, is beautifully decorated with
antiques and valuable furniture.

LE PUY CAMINOOur accommodation on the Le Puy Camino is homely
and comfortable, offering a mix of hotels and farm stays.
All are fresh and clean with welcoming hosts and staff.
The hotels on Le Puy Camino are generally smaller than
those on the other Camino routes.
Many of the guesthouses offer only a couple of rooms.
Generally, the size of the accommodation depends on
the size of the village or town.
The majority of the accommodations are located in the
villages and close to the Camino trail, so they are easy to
find on foot upon arrival. The owners are very courteous;
they will always be there to welcome you and provide
assistance.
While being more modest than the accommodation on
the other Caminos, the Le Puy Camino offers wholesome
comfort in great locations for you to relax and enjoy.
