Off The Shoulder

The Off The Shoulder trend continues apace, but this season look out for shoulderpeeking details and tie up straps to hit the right seasonal note. This is an uberflattering trend for everyone no matter what your body shape, so if you haven'tindulged in the shoulder-as-erogenous-zone thing yet why not give it a try this

season?

Stripes

Stripes have gone all geometric on us this season. If your comfort zone is normally aBreton top, look to shoes and bags to branch out a bit. Otherwise, if you're up for it,you can harness the body-shaping power of the stripe to your advantage and fix all

sorts of body issues.

Floral

Florals are a perennial (pardon the pun) Spring/Summer trend, so it's no surprise tosee them back in full force this season. Think ditsy florals on diaphanous chiffon

dresses for that endless summer boho vibe, or go bold and brazen in some of theseason's oversized floral prints for maximum impact. Remember to consider your

proportions when selecting the size of your floral print. Petite gals should stick withsmaller patterns to avoid being swamped, while more Amazonian gals can knock

themselves out with a larger scale print.

Lingerie Details

There's been a slight penchant for showing your undies over the past few seasons.For spring it has manifested itself in slinky slip dresses with lace details a la KateMoss back in the day, or a more wearable and very much less scary layering your

silk cami over a tee. Either way look for delicate lace and embroidery detailing pairedwith luxe fabrics to get it right.

Statement Sleeves

Statement sleeves are having a bit of a moment. They compliment the off theshoulder looks quite well and are also adding fuel to the flames of the shirting trendthis season (which is also a thing by the way). You can read up on how to wear a

statement sleeve in our recent post here. But keep an eye out for anything with belland flute designs as well as ribbon detailing to nail the trend.

White Out

White is always a winner in the warmer months and this season is no different. Wearit head to toe including accessories and you will be as one with the hippest of

fashionistas. It's probably wise to stick to washable fabrics rather than anythingwhich needs dry cleaning to keep maintenance costs down.

Polka Dots & Gingham

I'm not advocating wearing both these patterns at the same time... although wearingdouble polka dot and double gingham might float your fashionista boat. But these

two spring favourites definitely deserve an honorary mention. They can perk up yourinner prep girl no end and definitely whisper summers by the seaside. You don't

have to stick to classic black and white as there are plenty of other colourways outthere.

Think Pink

I've had a bit of a thing for pink for a few seasons now, so was thrilled to see that it'shitting the mainstream on the colour trend front this year. There are plenty of hues todeliberate over, but the bravest amongst us might favour a shocking pink, while the

timider might want to play it safe with a soft blush. Either way feel free to wear it fromtop to toe or simply flash a pop of this zesty colourway through the medium of an

accessory or two to look on trend.

Shoes

There's plenty to choose from in the shoe department this season. Vertiginous heelshave gone a little humorous (Saint Laurent), the sock masquerading as a boot is a

thing as are pimped up crocs - but you won't catch me wearing those no matter howmuch bling they have on them. White shoes would be a good investment as they arehaving a bit of a moment, and if you're looking for the next big thing in trainers thenlook for something with a little embellishment as the plain white lark is getting a bit

stale.

Micro Bags

Totally impractical but none the less uber cute are the new season offering of microbags. I'm one of those carry-a-massive-tote-with-all-my-worldly-belongings-in kindagals, so the very thought of downsizing to such a minute size gives me a nervous

twitch. Having said that you couldn't deny their diminutive sweetness and might wellbe worth road testing in the form of an evening bag to gently ease yourself into the

downsizing element.
