Our Father’s Kitchen History• What is Our Father’s Kitchen?

– Feeding program that targets some of the most disadvantaged children in Addis

– Partnership with HAPSCAA

• How did Our Father’s Kitchen (OFK) Start?– Owner of Lime Tree restaurant (Yasser)– Garbage collection

• Goals of OFK– Feed children one meal a day (6 - 7 Birr per

meal/child)• Just think what a 50 Birr phone card buys!

– Keep them healthy enough to go to school– Happy childhood considering their circumstance

– There are now 150 children being fed by the OFK Program

– Profile: Extreme poverty, orphan or double orphan, HIV Positive or living with AIDS

– Most are able to return to school– All are happier – Big Success - Berhanu will attend college!

• Two Kitchens– Mercato - 100 children are fed at this location– Mamo Kacha Alert - 50 children are fed at this

location
