Because of this crisis, our community faces growing challenges.
United Way of Southern Nevada knew a community response was needed.
We convene over 200 local government, nonprofit and business leaders every week to coordinate efforts and work efficiently and effectively to fill gaps in services.
On March 18, 2020, UWSN launched the Emergency Assistance and Community Needs Fund.
• Raised over $2.3M to provide food, shelter and utility assistance.

We’re gettingthrough this together.
But there are morechallenges ahead.
Southern Nevada now has one of the highest unemployment rates in the nation, and this crisis will continue to impact our community and our world for months and years to come.
We can’t predict how the futurewill unfold.
We know there will beincreased demand for the services and support that so many people rely on.
People who are unemployed will need help getting back to work.
Students will need support to graduate and prepare for a career.
Many will need help accessing food, shelter and utility support.
He still needs you.Finding out my 5-year-old son Benji had cancer again while we were in the midst of a business shutdown and global pandemic was just overwhelming. I am so grateful for the financial assistance from UWSN that has enabled us to stay in our home and give us hope during this horrible time.
