OUR CHARACTERS

The ‘Damsel In Distress’• Our plot involves an innocent young woman/girl fitting to

the role of ‘Damsel In Distress’ being the victim of an attack and subsequence disappearance. We have created this character in inspiration of female characters in horror/thriller genre films such as ‘Marion Crane’ in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho.

Marion Crane played by Janet Leigh is the basis of our character ‘Lucie’, the stalker’s victim. However, there is a pretext behind Marion’s innocent exterior (the robbery), whereas to our character Lucie it unclear due to the short length of our project, therefore we have not included it within our plot for the opening.

The ‘Villain’• Our plot also involves an attacker/murderer, who stalks

our female victim character home in order to abduct her. The role will be played stereotypically by a man, though the villain’s actual appearance will be obscure throughout the opening in order to create more suspense in the audience.

Our ‘stalker’ character was based upon various on-screen characters, however for example we could use Norman Bates played by Anthony Perkins, also from the film Psycho. He is the antagonist of Marion, and we found the sense of being watched

– particularly in the scenes leading up to the famous ‘shower scene’, extremely effective in creating suspense.
