Food & Drink Maintenance / Multi-Skilled Engineer (Level 3)

In partnership with our learning provider, you will extensively learn about the theory and practicality of what it takes to work in the food industry. As a qualified engineer, you will gain the necessary skills and knowledge to be responsible for the mechanical and electrical integrity of the equipment on site. Regular reviews and feedback will help you to become a key member of the team.

As you progress through the scheme, you will increasingly have the opportunity to put your knowledge into practice and learn from qualified and experienced engineers. On completion of your Multi-Skilled Engineering Apprenticeship, you will achieve an NVQ Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance and a Technical Certificate in BTEC Diploma Engineering.

Entry Requirements: 4 GCSEs at minimum C / Grade 4, including English Maths GSCE - minimum B / Grade 5-6

OUR APPRENTICESHIP SCHEMES

Food & Drink Advanced Process Operator (Level 3)

Over the course of the 2 year programme, you will navigate your way through mixing and ingredients to process, packing and to dispatching finished product - all designed to aid your development and get a rounded view of the whole supply chain.

As an advanced operator, you will develop an in-depth knowledge of food and drink products, health and safety systems, quality systems and Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP). You will be trained to interrogate and interpret data to identify trends and carry out basic fault finding.

This will help to anticipate potential problems and improve quality and productivity. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, as well as being awarded a Level 3 Diploma in Food and Drink Operations, you will become one of our highly skilled operators, where further career progression opportunities can open up for you.

Entry Requirements: English and Maths GCSE, minimum C / Grades 4-9

Commercial Degree Apprentice (Level 6)

This apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to rotate across different commercial roles, whilst studying part-time for a BA (Hons) Business Studies. On completion of your degree, you will be awarded a Chartered Manager Status qualification (CMgr MCMI).

The rotational placements will build commercial acumen with a focus on understanding our retailers, brands, consumers and channels as well as exploring how our category, shopper and MS&P teams support our business objectives. Roles will include time spent in field sales, marketing, head office sales team as well as our project management team. You will be expected to deliver on KPIs to drive growth in particular channel and / or products, and align plans and strategies to the brand visions.

Entry requirements: A-levels - BBC or 112 UCAS pts in a minimum of two subject areas or existing Level 3 qualifications. Other relevant or prior experience may also be considered as an alternative. Minimum Level 2 English, Maths & ICT.

OUR APPRENTICESHIP SCHEMES

Food Technology Degree Apprentice (Level 6)

Over the course of 4 years, you will be undertaking a BSc degree in Food Science & Technology. In parallel, you will be fulfilling the role of technologist at pladis, within our Safety, Quality, Security and Environment or Research & Development teams, whilst developing industry knowledge and identifying best practice opportunities.

Roles come with a diverse set of responsibilities. These range from ensuring Quality Assurance and food safety to product innovation and supporting the identification of the latest trends and technologies, putting your degree learning into practice as you develop with pladis.

Entry Requirements: A-levels – DDE including a Science subject; or BTEC Extended Diploma – MPP, including relevant Science modules; or 64 UCAS Tariff points from three A-levels or equivalent qualifications, including an A-level equivalent in a Science subject. You will also need GCSE Maths and English at C / Grade 4 or above.
