2ARDENWelcome to Arden. This booklet details uniform, this

year’s examination results and membership of ourexcellent teaching and support staff team.

At Arden we pride ourselves on doing our very best for every pupilhelping them achieve their full educational potential as theydevelop into happy well rounded young adults of whom we canbe very proud. However this is a two way street and in return fordoing our best, we expect every pupil to match up to the highacademic and personal standards that we set as a pre-requisiteof being part of the Arden family.

As a parent, the role you play is also extremely important, thestandards you maintain at home and the positive conviction withwhich you support you child’s education are hugely important intheir success whilst at Arden, and beyond into their adult life.

We hope you feel Arden is a place where you children can reallyflourish, with your help and support we’ll do our very best to seeyour child reaches their maximum personal and academicpotentional whilst also developing into a happy, successful andwell-rounded young adult.

Arden Girls’ School UniformAll requirements and information pertaining to Boy’s uniform also apply to the dress of Arden Girls.

Academic UniformBlazer Bottle Green, complete with pocket badge. A Blazer is compulsory between Years 7 and 11.Tie Only the School Tie is acceptable.Skirt Pleated style KJ35 (Embroidered ‘A’ by the band).

Skirts must be of a ‘reasonable’ length, no shorter than 40mm above the knee.Trousers Black, straight legged Trouser.

No bootleg, hipsters, flairs or other fashion-cut trousers are acceptable.Socks Ankle Socks in white, black, dark grey or bottle green.Tights Nylon Tights, if worn, must be traditional ‘tan’ colour. Black tights can be worn in cold weather

but must be plain, no fishnets or patterns are allowable.Blouse White, button to neck collar.Shoes Black only, of a solid, traditional style. Low heels are allowed, but no lightweight Fashion

Shoes. Trainers/Pumps should not be worn to school, even for medical reasons (except during PE lessons).

Jumper/Cardigan Years 7-9, Grey with Green or Gold/Green band, Years 10-11, plain Bottle Green.Scarf Plain Black or Bottle Green.Outdoor Pupils may wear an Overcoat which is completely plain and of a single, restrained colour,

without pattern or obvious motif.Jewellery No jewellery other than a Watch with a plain strap may be worn.

Girls with pierced ears may wear one plain Stud in each earlobe.Make-up Make-up is not allowed. Colourless Nail Varnish is acceptable.Hair Long hair should be tied back in practical lessons using plain Bottle Green or Black Slides

or Bands. No extreme hair styles or colours are allowed.Summer Uniform During Summer, girls may wear a Short-Sleeved Blouse with open neck and no Tie;

Cardigans/Jumpers are optional, however, a Blazer must be worn.

Physical Education UniformShoes A pair of clean, laced Trainers of plain design should be kept for indoor/outdoor use.PE Top* Green aertex style Shirt with short sleeves, open neck and featuring the School logo. Socks Short, white.Shorts Black lycra Cycling Shorts.Leggings Black with ‘Arden’ printed down leg. Skirt* Bottle green, combination shorts/skirt.Fleece Bottle Green and Gold. Bag Any plain zipped bag (not a plastic carrier bag).Hockey socks Bottle Green and Gold sock.Shin pads/Gum shield Any.Optional Items Some pupils prefer to provide their own Tennis Racket and Hockey Stick.Track-suit bottoms* Plain black with or without Arden embroidery (no stripes, logos or piping allowed).Rugby shirt* Bottle/gold Falcon style. Though optional, this is the only allowable long sleeved top.Outdoor Sports Jacket School Colours, waterproof and windproof (optional).

Arden Boys’ School UniformMany institutions require conventional dress. In school that dress code is the Schooluniform. Pupils in a smart, clean uniform enhance their own reputations and prospectsby enhancing those of their School. Controlled and sensible behaviour, especially whilstin uniform, should also be regarded as part of the School dress code.The official Arden uniform stockists are Early Years of Shirley and Palmer’s of Knowle. Boththese outlets also offer an embroidery service for adding initials to the outside of PE kit.It is important that all personal belongings that are brought into school are clearlymarked with the owner’s name, preferably on the outside.
