Our new addition is proving to be as valuable as everyone anticipated. And so our gratitude to the individuals and businesses who supported this new building continues to grow.

Our first season with the new building, three of the five shows in our MAC Stage Series sold out. Our MAC Stage Series is held in the concert hall in the historic church connected to the new building. In the past, the shows in our PAC Stage Series, held at the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center, are the ones that would sell out.

As a result of the new building’s elevator and bridge, patrons who discovered they could not climb the stairs of the historic church, no longer have to. These patrons have now renewed their attendance at MAC shows.

Thank you for your support and enjoy the show!

Shaun Hopper

Saturday, October 21, 2017 – 7:30 pmMonroe Arts Center

Acoustic “fingerstyle” guitar phenom Shaun Hopper is a unassuming presence. With his rugged good looks, he’s a true southern gentleman whose humility stands in sharp contrast to the prodigious talents he unveils on stage. Merging complex melodic lines, harmony and bass lines, along with a one-of-a-kind percussive technique, he mesmerizes everyone within earshot. Weaving in humorous tales from his small town Georgia roots, along with an occasional glimpse into his “backwoods” upbringing, he stirs his audience with humor and introspection.

Dazzling audiences with his fiery originals and covering everything from Chet Atkins to Andre Segovia to The Beatles and Queen, Shaun Hopper never fails to captivate audiences. Whether you’re a guitar enthusiast or not, within seconds you’ll soon realize you are listening to a true virtuoso; a rare jewel in music scenes around the world.

Driftless Area Artists

This is an association of artists committed to nurturing the artistic growth and development of every member of the association. The association strives to increase awareness of local art in the Driftless Region of southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. This includes networking, educational, and exhibit opportunities. The Driftless Area Artists is sponsored by Monroe Arts Center. Call Monroe Arts Center at 608-325-5700 or www.driftlessareaartists.org for additional information and/or a membership application.

Art Critique Group

The Art Critique Group meets at the Monroe Arts Center on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Led by various guest facilitators, participants will show samples of their artwork, demonstrate technique, and hear a positive group critique along with discussion. Meetings are free and open to all levels of artists. Participants are asked to follow positive and constructive critique guidelines. No December 2017 meeting. For questions, contact Monroe Arts Center at 608-325-5700.
