OSU Federal Credit Union Goes Green with Integrated MediaManagement's TotaleAtlas
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OSU Federal Credit Union announced at the BAI Retail DeliveryConference & Expo that they are using Integrated Media Management®'s (IMM) documentpreparation engine, TotaleAtlas, to create a more environmentally friendly business process at eachof its eleven branches and call center. Not only has the credit union reduced the amount of paperthat it produces, but the efficiency of its loan process has also greatly increased with TotaleAtlas.
A number of financial institutions have invested in green initiatives this year. The NationalAutomated Clearing House Association (NACHA) recently announced the formation of a greencoalition that focuses on educating consumers about the positive environmental impact of choosingelectronic bills, statements and payments over paper.
"The main reason we decided to implement TotaleAtlas was to eliminate paper," Paula Higgins, dataprocessing manager at OSU Federal, explained. "Not only does this allow us to rely less on naturalresources, but TotaleAtlas also solved our problem of running out of vault storage space for the loandocuments."
TotaleAtlas is part of IMM's TotaleWorks suite of software products for document output andsignature capture. The suite also includes TotaleChecks and TotaleReceipts. TotaleAtlas providesusers with a document preparation engine that merges XML data and PDF documents. The processis initiated by the host system and all fields that are not populated from the host database can befilled in on screen prior to electronically signing and printing the document.
"Now our members use the signature pad to sign the documents and with a press of a button, thefiles are electronically archived," Higgins added. "We only print the documents as requested, andthey can be accessed at any of the branches."
OSU FCU enhanced TotaleAtlas with the installation of IMM's DocQ, which holds documents in adocument queue until a joint owner is available to sign them at a different time and/or location.DocQ also allows the credit union to prepare documents in advance, therefore, reducing the amount
of time that the member spends at the branch.
"Our branches are spread out across five counties, so DocQ has proven to be a great option for ourmembers," Higgins said. "Overall we have seen an increase in efficiency and reductions in the timethat a member spends at a branch, the amount of paper that we produce and the errors associatedwith the manual entry of data. TotaleAtlas is a win for the environment, OSU Federal Credit Unionand our members."
