Introduction Capula specialises in advanced automation control and real-time IT for the Energy & Utilities sectors.
As an independent system integrator, our solutions span the gap between traditional industrial controls and business IT systems, and are used to drive process performance, improve energy management and manage regulatory compliance.
With a history spanning over 40 years and more
than 200 engineers recognised for innovation,
project delivery, quality and safety, we design,
deliver and support systems that are mission
critical for our clients.
Capula is the UK’s leading OSIsoft Partner for
their real-time performance management
Infrastructure - PI System, with in excess of 130
client organisations supported in the UK.
Using the functionality of the OSIsoft PI System
infrastructure, we extract real-time state and
analogue data from operational systems and
combine it with customer, financial and asset
data from business applications to provide
meaningful, tailored information that helps
our clients drive behaviour change, improve
management decision making and demonstrate
compliance.
The key enablers for this include data
visualisation and transformation, making use of
technologies such as Microsoft SharePoint and
Silverlight, and new OSIsoft applications like
Coresight and Event Framing. Data quality is
ensured through effective configuration
management and maintaining continuity and
integrity of real-time data flows with regard to
Information Security and CPNI standards.
We provide a full range of services to support
the OSIsoft PI System, which include:
• Solution design
• Implementation consultancy & delivery
• Real-time data visualisation solutions
• OSIsoft PI System data exploitation &
transformation projects
• OSIsoft PI System infrastructure licenses
• OSIsoft PI System training
• OSIsoft PI System maintenance & support

OSIsoft PI System training
The success of any system will depend on how well it is integrated into the organisation’s operations. A key element is the training of staff to operate, maintain and adapt that system. People are at the heart of any business and it is investment in the development of people that is key to business improvement.
Capula provides a range of training courses to
complement OSIsoft and Capula products. They
range from introductory programmes to more
advanced System Manager and programming
courses. Working closely with PI system
developers, our training materials are
continually updated and reflect the latest
information and new software.
We place a high emphasis on training that
can be turned quickly into practice. All courses
feature specifically developed, hands-on
exercises which support the tuition.
Class sizes are limited to ensure each
delegate has the use of a dedicated PC and due
attention from the course tutor.
Scheduled courses are held at our offices in
Aberdeen and Gloucester for a maximum of
eight delegates. Additionally, on-site courses can
be arranged, again for up to eight delegates.
We are currently offering the following
training courses:
• PI System Manager Essentials
• PI System Manager Advanced
• PI System Client User
• PI System Client Developer
• PI System Application Development
• PI Advanced Computing Engine
• PI System WebParts User &
