nd rdDSO –Football Subrotho Mukherjee Cup held on 2 August and 3 August for under 16 at HFS Thane.

thVVSSC-G.K quiz competition was held on 5 August where our students Nilay and Ashmita of grade IX, Sai Chandra grade VIII,Dushyant grade VII bagged first prize.

thFootball School of India organized Independence Day Championship 2016 @ Nerul on 14 August, students of grade VIII and IX got the championship home.

thVVSSC-Chess Tournament was held on 27 August at Ram rattan Vidhya Mandir,Bhyandar - rdShubham Kulkarni bagged 3 Prize.

thVVSSC-Inter School Spell Bee competition held on 20 August at Santhome Public School ,Mira rd Road- where Divita of grade VI B bagged 3 prize.

Dear Program:Looking at this need of an hour to develop reading habits in all dear and near ones Orchids –

The International School, Thane (OIST) has initiated “DROP EVEYTHING AND READ”-

“DEAR” program. The activity is conducted for everyone to promote time for leisure reading. th

On every 14 of each month Orchidians are going to pause for ten to 15 minutes from their

daily routine to grab a book and cherish reading their favorite stuffs.

Spell it Right & Write Right Program:At Orchids-The International School, we advocate handwriting practice, either in print or in

cursive. “Write Right' Program has initiated our students into a regular practice of

handwriting. Spelling as a skill is a highly essential skill that develops precision and

observation. In order to focus on spellings and vocabulary, we have come up with “Spell it

Right” program.

IEP for Special Need Students:We at Orchids believe that every student is special and is unique. They learn in different

ways; we have adopted Individual Educational Program for our Special needs students

wherein the curriculum and the worksheets for every student is designed differently,

keeping their progress in mind. In this program our educators teach them in the way the

students learn.

Path to Success:This program is to help and raise the performance of students who find themselves floundering with the basics. If we catch them young, we will be able to set them on the Path to Success. This program has impacted the grasping of learning skills in the classroom and the students learn more confidently in regular classes.

Foster Mother (Pastoral Care):This program has been introduced with the teachers for the Low Achievers and it's key focus

is to bring a change in the students in terms of academics and behavior. This program has

provided the Students a great support and a listening ear.

"Orchids- The International School, THANE” is a complete school. It has everything in it, The school is

very good in academics , extra curricular activities. Students are encouraged to participate in inter

school competitions, They are winning laurels for the school and this is because of good guidance from

the teachers. The school has very enthusiastic Principal, Always active Vice Principal , devoted teachers

and very good managerial staffs; they all work like a team. The school will grow to greater heights in the

coming years and our best wishes to the school.
