Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have had a lot of fun during our

celebration of Literacy Week this past week, but

remember we celebrate literacy every day of the year!

Some of my favorite Literacy quotes:

“A book is a gift you can open again and

again.” – Garrison Keillor

“Fill your house with stacks of books, in all

the crannies and all the nooks.” – Dr. Seuss

“The more that you read, the more things you

will know. The more that you learn, the more

places you’ll go.” – Dr. Seuss

“Children are made readers on the laps of

their parents.” – Emilie Buchwald

“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.” –

Margaret Fuller

“One of the greatest gifts adults can give—to

their offspring and to their society—is to read

to children.” – Carl Sagan

“Any book that helps a child to form a habit

of reading, to make reading one of his needs,

is good for him.” – Maya Angelou

“There is no such thing as a child who hates to

read; there are only children who have not

found the right book.” – Frank Serafini

Parents and guardians, thank you so much for

encouraging your children to read, for reading to

them and for modeling by reading yourself!!

If one of your goals is to become more

involved in your school community as we move into

the second month of 2020, I invite you to participate

in our School Advisory Committee (SAC) and our

PTO. Both organizations serve our Osceola

community so well and we appreciate their

support. But we still can use more members! Please

consider joining one or both teams!

It is so very important that your children are

in their classrooms at the start of the academic school

day at 8:25. Many important activities are occurring

at that time and we don’t want our students missing

a single thing! I would like to remind everyone of

our morning parent drop off procedures. All students

should be dropped off at the Parent Drop Off loop

by 8:25. After 8:25 students will need to be walked

into the front office by a parent. Thank you in

advance for adhering to these procedures.

I hope that you have a wonderful week and

make some new memories with your children.

Wishing you peace in the New Year,

Yearbook Pre-Sale! Sale begins January 13 and runs

through March 13, 2020 ~ ON-LINE Access Code: C48236

Your child will be receiving a yearbook

payment envelope this week, so please be sure to check their backpack.

This year, you have two options to pay for your child’s yearbook, ON-LINE, or by sending

payment into the school in the provided payment envelope. We HIGHLY suggest ON-

LINE as it is a much more efficient way to pay, but if you must send payment into the school.

ON-LINE: Please log on to the Leonard website, provided on the payment envelope,

using the Access code to enter your credit card information and order your yearbook.

Check or Cash: Please make checks payable to LEONARDS STUDIO, or send the exact amount

of cash. Please complete the front of the envelope and make sure all information is

entered, seal the envelope, and send it in to your child’s teacher, or the front office. We

will not be checking payments or opening the envelopes, so please know that if the envelope

is not completed properly or payment is not included or correct, you risk not reserving a

yearbook for your child. In order to guarantee

a yearbook, you must order by March 13th. If

we have additional unsold yearbooks, they

will be available after yearbooks arrive and

sold on a first come-first served basis.

Should you have any further questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Burney at 547-3782
