18. Appendices
Following is the different appendices
mentioned in different parts of this Instructive.
Each one is strategic, since special care has been taken
in writing them.
All the appendices are completely unedited, by
which we mean to imply that they have been prepared
exclusively for the stewardship plan in this
Instructive.
The only plssible resemblance that can be
found is with the Individual Covenant, for similar
covenants have been used in the churches, even though the one in this Instructive answers to
exclusive purposes of the Comprehensive Growth
Plan
The appendices appear in the order in which the stewardship plan is developed in this
Instructive.
1. The Best Practices
It is a short devotional that is provided so that the members of the Visitation Committee can make the first visit which is the beginning of
the Days of Revival.
2. Visitation Report
This is a survey that will be applied to each member who attends
church, baptized or not
baptized.
The church will provide each
visitor with the number of
surveys needed to cover the list
of persons to visit.
All the members of the Visitation Committee should receive the seminar which
contains the instructions on how to proceed at the time of making the visit to complete
the survey.
The said seminar is available along
with this Instructive.
Now, why such a survey? What reasons justify it? Why should the church member
complete it? What is the benefit?
The Word of God gives clear and precise instructions to each leader to take care of each one of the sheep that makes up the Lord’s flock:“Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds.
(Proverbs 27:23)
Any church member feels good and pleased when
they see that their leaders, at any level, are
focused on the task of looking after them.
All the actions taken by those leaders, who
have, as their sole purpose, the spiritual
well-being of the member, awaken in them this gratitude
and desire to work in the church.
Let us look at a few key terms in our verse
which is found in Proverbs.
a. “Be sure".Be sure of what? And after knowing what, how do you make sure of this? Let us continue with some other terms to answer these questions.
b. “Know". This means realize, to learn something; do not be ignorant of that which should be known.
It is a knowledge that should not go unnoticed, much less be indolent in what should be done to make it ours.
Action, initiatives, and strategies to implement are required to come to this knowledge.
c. “The condition of your flocks.” This is the precise knowledge that the leaders should have about how the
flock of the Lord is doing
To come to this knowledge the leaders
should find ways, methods, and ideas.
The survey of this Instructive is just that, a powerful tool in the hands of the local church that will allow it to thoroughly know
the state of the sheep.
This survey has been designed with such
precision, that when it is properly filled out, it may
prescribe with spiritual and scientific accuracy what
should be done to strengthen and increase the
sheep of the herd.
d. “Give careful attention to your herds” This is the reason why all of the above should be
done.
All that effort to know the state of the sheep; all the work that involves the
visitation of each member to fill out the survey, is done with the purpose of
taking great care of them.
This is a responsibility which cannot be
shunned by any leader.
If fulfilled, the church member will be grateful when perceiving that there is a genuine interest
in their well-being.
Note that the amount of care that
is required is not little, it’s a lot!
In reality, little is being done with this survey, there is still
lots to be done, however it is a start. May God bless this first effort that will be done in each
local church.
Remember that we live in the era of information, and the data provided through this instrument is extremely valuable.
If this information is used by the pastors, the benefits for the local church will be immeasurable.
Based on the information provided by the members much analysis can be made regarding the different needs.
Based on these analyses, solutions will be provided to improve the weaknesses.
In fact, the CGP seminars mentioned in this Instructive are designed to supply many of those needs.
A database will be created with the
information of each member provided in the Visitation Report.
This Instructive will provide the model for the database, and will make it available to the pastor
and the local church.
Any church, even the one where a computer cannot
be found, can benefit from the wealth of
information from this database.
The only thing that is needed is to collect the
Visitation Report, properly filled out, from
each member.
With the database ready to collect the data, the district pastor knows how to find a person to begin to fill it out with
the data provided by the Visitation Report.
When the database is supplied with all the information from a local church, the analytical possibilities that will provide valuable conclusions, are multiplied.
The district pastor may perform these analysis not only at the level of each local church, but
also at the level of their entire district.
The president of the Conference/Mission may ask each of his
pastors to perform this work, church by
church.
In this way he will have a picture with statistical
information from each of the districts of his field,
and by uniting them in the analysis a complete
picture can be made of the whole field which will
indicate the actual condition of the churches in regards to the growth
and health indicators measured in the Visitation
Report.
The same possibilities are made available to the Union president, when the analysis is unified from all the local fields that make up the Union.
The remarkable idea in all of this is that when observing the contents of the Visitation Report, the experienced eye immediately notices that the items evaluate the basic components that determine and measure the health and growth of the members and the churches.
When this data is statistically analyzed in all of the churches of the same district, or in the entire Conference/Mission districts of the Union, it is then that we perceive the enormous benefit that this tool can provide to the integral growth of the church and its members.
This survey is an instrument of
investigation in which the spiritual design
and scientific aspects were taken into
account.
In the first place, it is spiritual because of the
indicators that determine if a church member is wisely managing his/her Christian
life, are essentially spiritual.
In other words, the indicators of
faithful stewardship are of a spiritual
character.
So, if they seek to measure at what level
they are, first they must be clearly identified and
then included in an instrument designed to
investigate them.
Throughout his ministerial life, any
pastor has the capacity of
identifying what the indicators are.
The nature of his pastoral work facilitates this identification.
However, this survey is also
scientific, because in the design of the
instrument the scientific principles
of investigation were followed.
So, from a spiritual perspective, we are
going to scientifically measure the indicators
which establish the management of the
Christian life practiced by each church member.
For this instrument to be valid and trustworthy, so that it could be applicable to the brethren in general, it was
first applied to various members in different countries to prove its
effectiveness.
In scientific investigation this process is known as pilotage
and is required for validity and trustworthiness.
The pilot test was applied to dozens of
church members.
Their willingness to participate and their spirit of cooperation was
observed, which indicated to the researchers who prepared it that the
content of the instrument inspires trust and security in the brethren.
Based on all of the above, we provide the church this powerful tool, certain of its
invaluable blessing.
3. In a Covenant with God
This topic is prepared so that the visitor can use it prior to the signing of the Individual Covenant that precedes the
Days of Revival.
4. Covenant with my God
This is the Individual Covenant that the church member signs on the second visit just before the Days of Revival.
Each district, Conference/Mission, makes their design and sends it to be made.
However, the content must be conserved, since it was tested in various churches with excellent results.
5. My Prayer Covenant
It is the first sermon of the
Days of Revival
Take note that at the end, an appeal is made to make the Prayer covenant and the card is included so that each member can make his/her covenant.
The card must be printed by the district or
Conference/Mission
6. My Prayer Covenant
It is a small sticker that must be made by the district or Conference/Mission to be filled out by the church
member and then placed on the inside cover of their Bible.
7. Covenant of Faithfulness to the Bible
This is the second sermon for the Days of Revival.
At the end, a model of the card to be used in the appeal to sign the covenant to study the Bible, is also included.
The district or mission sends it to be printed.
8. Covenant of a Bible Student
It is a small sticker that must be made by the
district or Conference/Mission to be filled out by the church
member and then placed on the inside cover of the Bible next to the Prayer
covenant.
9. Committed to the KingdomThis is the third sermon for the Days of Revival.
In this case the appeal for the covenant is made by inviting the people to stand and then invite them to come up to the alter.
Have a small sticker made with the phrase: COMMITTED TO THE KINGDOM”, that will be given to each member who made the decisión to commit everything to the Lord.
At that moment they will be asked to place it on the front cover of their Bible.
10. Be Godly
It is the short devotional that the visitor will use a month after the conclusión of the Days of Revival.
It serves to reinforce the previous covenants and to prepare the ground for the family to sign the Family Covenant.
11. Family Covenant Devotional Ceremony
It is the topic that the
district pastor will present in
each home where the
Family Covenant is
signed.
This occurs, depending on the
various ceremonies that take place, more
or less one month after the visit where the Be
Godly devotional is presented.
12. Family Covenant
This is the covenant that
will be signed by all family
members at the ceremony.
It is a scroll and it is
recommended that it be
exquisite in design when it is sent to be made by the district or Conference/Missi
on.

13. The Faithfulness of Jesus
This is a short devotional prepared so that the visitor can present it to
his/her list of members after the
signing of the Family Covenant
It serves as the introduction of
the handing over of the small tool
about the motives for
tithing and giving offerings that will be left with the
member
14. Tool on Tithing
It is a small tool that seeks to find reasons why some people give
tithe and offerings while others do not.
From the first visit made by the visitor when he/she
presents the topic, The best practices, until the
moment when this tool is given to the members,
approximately nine months have gone by.
Throughout this time, different strategies have
been implemented to help the church member make the decisión to be faithful
in tithe and offerings.
This small tool will reveal at this point those who
persist in not doing so, but most importantly, their
reasons, and with this in hand we can design
initiatives to continue helping them in this critical
issue.
In total there are 14 documents included in these appendices.
Before recommending them to the local church they have passed the test to measure their effectiveness, therefore they are given this guarantee.
The rest of the materials mentioned in this Instructive, such as the CGP courses that will be studied one per semester in addition to other resources, will be coming out on a regular basis and be sent to the churches by different means to ensure their use and in this way produce the sought after blessing.
