What is Prop 4 80? As you may have seen, the numbers of COVID-19 cases and related hospitalizations have continued to rise in Pima County and across the state of Arizona. As our state works to reopen stores, restaurants and facilities, we need to remain vigilant and continue practicing social distancing, hand washing, wearing a mask or face covering when in public spaces and staying home if we are sick. So while we encourage you to shop local and support our Oro Valley businesses, we also ask that you look out for one another and maintain those practices that will keep yourself and others safe. Please be sure to stay informed. For the latest updates from the Pima County Health Department, visit www.pima.gov/covid19. For questions about symptoms, call the state hotline at 211. To find out how COVID-19 is impacting services and facilities right here in Oro Valley, be sure to visit the Town’s website at www.orovalleyaz.gov. On August 4, one of the items that will appear on the Primary Election ballots for Oro Valley voters is Proposition 480—a Permanent Base Adjustment. To help Oro Valley’s voters understand Proposition 480, an educational web page and video presentation have been created. Please visit the Town’s website at www.orovalleyaz.gov and click on the blue “Prop 480” button to learn more. Voters may request an early mail ballot for a specific election or they may request to be placed on the Permanent Early Voting List and receive mail ballots for all elections. e early mail ballots for the Primary Election will be mailed on or about July 8, 2020. e last day you may request a ballot by mail is July 24. If you are not registered with a political party, be sure to select a party ballot or select “City/town only” ballot to ensure you receive your Oro Valley ballot. For information about your ballot or polling place, please visit the Pima County Recorder’s Office website at www.recorder.pima.gov or call 520-724-4330. Have you signed up for CodeRED? CodeRED is a FREE emergency notification service provided to all residents within Oro Valley that will notify you of emergency information through phone calls, text messages, emails and social media. e system will be used to keep you informed of local events that may immediately impact your safety. As a local resident, you are encouraged to take action and register your cell phone for this service and verify your home location during the enrollment process so you will receive notifications that directly impact your home or business. Monsoon Safety Sandbags now available

Monsoon season is officially here! We need your help making sure the Town of Oro Valley stays safe and clean. If you see any water quality or flooding issues, please contact the Stormwater Utility via phone at 520-229-4850 or email at [email protected]. For monsoon information and safety tips, be sure to check out our Monsoon Preparedness guide. Just visit the Town’s website and type MONSOON into the search bar. (Or, if you’re reading this online, click here for a direct link.)

Sandbags are now available to residents who may need to protect areas of their homes from storm runoff during the monsoon. Sandbags are self-service, so you will need to bag and load your own sand. Bags and sand are available at Naranja Park (810 W. Naranja Drive). Due to a limited number of supplies, only Town of Oro Valley residents are eligible, and there is a limit of 10 sandbags per vehicle. Residents who require assistance may make an appointment with Town Staff to pick up pre-bagged sand at a designated time. To book your appointment, call 520-229-4711 or email at [email protected].
