Like a rug that lays over a floor to protect it from conflicting forces, they lay down their bombs to protect themselves from their adversaries. Grasping, propelling, and diminishing any possibilities in life that the opposing soldiers could have. Explosions of the ground, explosions of the bodies, explosions of their hearts, as they realize the deaths that this volatile terrain causes. Wait, they say, do not run out just yet, as my friends above and I throw these last assets to kill those few remaining soldiers. Come, he says, You can throw one too.

Tia Bentivegna Ms. Gardner English 10, Period 2 5 December 2014

Laying Down a Carpet   The soldiers run, and fight, and hide, relentlessly watching their soaring, thoughtful friends lay down the carpet that takes the lives of many soldiers.
