Description

FOP-10 is an orifice plate for flow rate measurement of aggressive and non-aggressive media. It is particularly designed for large pipelines. This orifice plate produce a differential pressure signal proportional to the square of the flow rate.

The differential pressure output is normally piped to a differ-ential pressure transmitter in order to generate an electrical signal proportional to the flow rate. A differential pressure gauge or switch can be used to provide local mechanical indication or flow rate switching. For certain applications, the differential pressure transmitter can be directly mounted on to the FOP-10 via an integral 3 or 5 valve manifold.

Designs of orifice plate

They depend on nominal size, media and the required sealing-type. Normal configuration is the orifice plate (figure 1). A special configuration is the reducer orifice plate (figure 2). It servers mainly in small pipes for pressure-reduction and for flow-linitation. The quarter circle nozzle (figure 3) is assigned for use with small Reynold’s figures.

x = not standardised in DIN standard (DN 50 adapted to general practice)

Thickness is laid out for a differential pressure of max. 1000 mbar.

Thickness of the orifice plate

Orifice with nose, lense-sealing and ring-joint-sealing (figures 4 - 6) show you the possible sealing-types. Quarter circle nozzles according to VDI/VDE 2041 for special requirements are available for deliver.
