To get you started in this program, we prepared this orientation document which will provide you with the step by step procedure on how you will go about being a distance elearner and a student of the eSMP courses. Enjoy learning. Lets start. 1. Learn About UPOU . eSMP is being offered by the University of the Philippines Open University or UPOU. UPOU brings to the development and offering of eSMP its tradition of honor and excellence and its more than 15 years of offering programs and doing research on distance elearning.

W Orientation to the eService Management Program (eSMP)

2. Go to model.upou.edu.ph. Here you will see the list of courses offered by UPOU under the Massive Open Distance eLearning Framework (MODeL). Click courses (upper right hand corner as shown in the figure below ).

The other entry point to eSMP site is by through the slider by clicking the eService Management Program.

4. You will be brought to the page esmp.upou.edu.ph where you will see the following components:

These are the orientation videos about eSMP and the Business Process Management (BPM) or as we usually call it, the BPO industry and its important role in the Philippine economy.

These are the available courses.

5. After viewing the video materials, click enroll now to get you started.

This will bring you to the eSMP portal as shown below. Take the DE Readiness Module first.

6. You will then be asked to create your account.

7. Accomplish the account registration form.

Take note of your username and password which you will use to enter the course sites.

8. Check your email for further instructions/confirmation of your account. Confirm your account as per instructions in the email.

After account confirmation, you will be brought back to the esmp.upou.edu.ph site with the list of courses to choose from. 9. Click first the DE Readiness Module. This will familiarize you on how to be an online learner specifically navigating the site. Click enroll me so you can start this module. Complete the module as this will give you the initial experience to be an online learner.

The course enrollment keys for the courses being offered will also be made available at the end of the module. Take note of the enrollment key/s for the course/s that you are interested to enroll in. 8. After completing the DE Module, go back to the esmp main page (esmp.upou.edu.ph) and choose the course that you want to enroll. (Note: you can enroll in all courses available depending on your interest and if you have the time needed to complete the course/s). Click Enroll for the course that you have chosen.

9. Encode the course enrollment key when prompted. Start participating in the course activities. Technical/Learner Support: In case of technical concerns, you can contact us by email:

Certificate of Course Completion: A Certificate of Course Completion will be issued to those who will be able to complete and pass all course requirements. ePortfolio: Learners will be asked to put together all their course requirements through the ePortfolio. With your permission, the link to your ePortfolio will be made available to the HR units of our partner BPO companies for evaluation for hiring. Instructions on how to do your ePortfolio will be posted on the course site. Take note that you can also use your ePortfolio for other purposes like application to another job/company, not necessarily a BPO company.
