Purpose of Session
• To reflect on the state of CC jurisdictionprojects in Asia and the Pacific
• To learn from one another, so as to betterface common challenges
• To make recommendations to CC HQ onthe direction of the collaboration andpartnership
• An overview of your jurisdiction project– Structure, human resource, funding, etc.
• Focuses of your jurisdiction project– Such as license porting, outreach,
communicating best practices, advocatingchanges to social/legal norms, etc.
• Issues and challenges– What issues have you been facing? What
challenges do you foresee?• What do you see in 3 years about your
jurisdiction project?
A Small Exercise:Using CC Taiwan as an Example
• CC Taiwan has been hosted in the Institute ofInformation Science, Academia Sinica.– Supports from Academia Sinica: Space, funding,
and legality (e.g., MOU & grants) .– New host: Research Center for Information
Technology Innovation, Academia Sinica.
• Focuses of CC Taiwan: License porting,outreach, best practices (especially forgovernment agency and program).
• Issues: “Social services” in a researchinstitute; limited on progressive actions;project organization itself.
