NATIONAL CONVENTION ON SAFETY FOR PEOPLE, PLANT AND PLANET (NCS-2020)

ABOUT NCS2020:-
NCS 2020 organised with the objective of Generate mass awareness on SAFETY including Fire Safety and
Occupational Health in all sectors and Reduce Accidents- aiming at Zero Accident. The program was divided in
two parts like wiz. Case study presentation and at the same time parallel expert sessions on advance safety and its
future from the experts invited from a reputed organisation and consultancy. There are Total 60 teams; more than
450 delegates and nearly 120 delegates from Academia like RNGPIT, Bardoli, ISTAR, Vallabh VidyaNagar,
GSFC University, Baroda etc. were registered during Convention. All registered participant availed with Kit bag
contain necessary stationary for National convention.
Inaugural Ceremony of National Convention on Safety (NCS - 2020) was starts with lighting of the lamp by
dignitaries and followed by soulful prayer. During inauguration ceremony the dais was decorous by Hon.Shri
Ishwarbhai Parmar (Cabinet Minister, Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. Of Gujarat), Mr. P. M. Shah
(Director, Industrial Safety & Health, Govt. Of Gujarat), Mr. Shubhajyoti Mukherjee (Executive Director, Arcelor
Mittal Nippon Steel - Essar Steel, Hazira), Mr. D. K. Shrivastava (Director, QCFI - Hyderabad), Mr. Shyam Sunder
Shaluja (President, Laghu Udhyog Bharati), Mr. Raju Modi (Director, QCFI Head quarter), Mr. Vijay Asar
(Chairman, QCFI Ankleshwar Chapter), Mr. Babubhai Patel (Managing Trustee, SVPES), Mr. Mahendrabhai Patel
(Secretary, SVPES). During the inauguration Ceremony 3 projects of student’s filicide by dignitaries. Mr D. K.
Shrivastava Mukharji and Hon. Shree Ishwarbhai Parmar have congratulated and appreciated students for their
excellent work and motivated them to do same for industries. Mr. Shubhjyoti Mukharjee was pleased to
congratulate the students and invites the students for Industrial visit for explore knowledge.
The case study presentation was carried out in 10 parallel halls. The expert Session was conducted by distinguished
Experts invited by well-known organisation. Mr. Ruturaj Mehta, Adani Power, Mundra delivered speech on Latest
trends for safety for upcoming 2020. Mr. Shashikant Gavaskar, Head of Certification, GSCI Services Pvt Ltd,
Mumbai has encouraged the participants on topic of Road map to ISO 45001:2018 certification from OHSAS-
18001:2007. Mr. A. K. Chaturvedi, Director- Technical, EQMS INGENUITY Pvt Ltd, Delhi talked on Cultural
change requires enhancing safety to link up with production. After case study presentation online Safety Quiz
Competition organised with better execution with the help of KAHOOT Application.
Valedictory function of NCS - 2020 was organized in presence of Prof.(Dr.) Navinchandra Sheth (Vice Chancellor
of Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad) and Mr. S. C. Bamania (Director, Industrial Safety & Health,
Surat region), Shree. Babubhai V. Patel, Managing Triustee, SVPES, Mr. Shyam Sunder Shaluja (President, Laghu
Udhyog Bharati), Mr. Raju Modi (Director, QCFI Head quarter) and Mr. Vijay Asar (Chairman, QCFI
Ankleshwar Chapter).. Real time requirement for the Growth of Nation is to create the bridge between Academia
and industries, which is perfectly provide by this chapter and students are take maximum benefit of that for further
future narrated by Prof Dr. Navinchandra Sheth, He added that to do successful work sensitivity towards safety is
essential. Sir has also appreciated the efforts of Institute for student’s development and start up activities. During
the speech of Shree Babubhai Patel appeal to the august gathering to accelerate the safety process in society,
Construction and Agriculture for batter future of Society. All winners of Case studies were appreciated by the
dignitaries with trophies. Students are also felicities with cheques for their respective projects selected under SSIP
scheme.
ABOUT Students Start up and Innovation Policy-SSIP:-
Government of Gujarat has developed a policy for providing assistance to Startups/ Innovation. Under this scheme,
any individual/ group of individuals having innovative idea/ Concept will be eligible for granting fund under SSIP
– Student Start up and Innovation Policy. RNGPIT has received a grant of Rs. 30,00,000 for three years to provide
financial support to students for Capacity Building, Proof of Concepts, Prototype and Start ups. During last Quarter
SSIP Institute advisory committee has scrutinise 7 innovative projects for Proof of Concepts and approved total
grant of Rs. 1,22,000. Table contain Details of selected projects.
