Orchard and DEP: Public Key and DEP Token Uploading Background
In order for Apple’s Device Enrollment Program to work seamlessly with eSpark’s Orchard MDM, our partners need to upload the Orchard public key to Apple’s servers, and provide eSpark with Apple’s DEP token for upload to our servers (this can also be done by our partners in Orchard’s Admin section).
The Steps
Sign in to deploy.apple.com.
Click on Device Enrollment Program.
Click the Manage Servers option on the sidebar. This will call up a list of servers
associated with your DEP account.
Click the server you want to view, then
take a look at your options. One of them is to Generate New Token. Click it.
Click the “Your Server Token” to
download the token, then click the blue “Done” button.
Now let’s log in to eSpark. Keep in mind,
this can also be done by your eSpark SPM or STM, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us! Log in by clicking the “Log in” text in the top righthand corner of the
page.
Select “Settings” on the sidebar of the
Orchard Admin page.
On the Settings page, click the blue “Set
up Devices” button.
First, select “Download Orchard Public
Key.” Download it to a place you will remember!
Then scroll down to upload your DEP
token to our MDM’s servers.
Now return to Apple’s DEP portal and
select the server you worked with earlier in the process.
This time, select “Replace Key” and
upload the Orchard public key you just downloaded from eSpark. Now you’re
ready to use our MDM!
