Ongoing Activities
Greetings Everyone!!
Did you know that your center director is trained to do Medicare Part D counseling?October 15th thru December 7th is open enrollment for Medicare Part D. Throughout the year,
Medicare has different enrollment periods. The open enrollment period is the timeframe duringwhich Medicare beneficiaries (people with Medicare) can make changes to their Medicare Plans.
What changes can you make? During open enrollment, you can:• Switch from Original Medicare (Medicare Parts A and B) to a Medicare Advantage
(Medicare Part C) plan• Switch from a Medicare Advantage plan back to Original Medicare• Switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another one• Make changes to your Medicare Part D (prescription plan) to another one
Why is open enrollment so important? Once the Medicare Open Enrollment Period closes onDecember 7, you can’t make any changes to your Medicare plan until the following year. There aresome exceptions, such as if you move out of the area served by your plan, but for most people onMedicare, the open enrollment period is the only time when you can make changes.
So, stop by the office, or call 942-2293 to make an appointment with the center director if youare considering changing anything, or just to check overall changes in plans. It is always good practice to look at your choices every year.
