Epiphany: God’s Brilliant Appearance

The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world. John 1:9

Epiphany, once celebrated as one of 3 great festivals-along with Easter and Pentecost, included the nativity of Jesus. Epiphany means “the light shines forth” or “made manifest.” In Greco-Roman times, it was used to describe a “public appearance” of state officials. We celebrate today that Jesus, the light of the world, God in human form, is made known and SEEN by us! The God who could not be looked upon is now visible to ALL humanity! The magi, non-Jewish spiritual seekers from other cultures saw the star and came to worship him. The light is for everyone! O come let us adore Him! Blessed New Year, full of His light! Peace, Pastor Janet

When and where have you “seen the light” or experienced God’s presence?

Like the magi, are you seeking spiritual

wisdom? How do you seek God?

How might your life reflect Jesus’ light?

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

What, with God’s help, do you want

people to see in you in the coming year?
