ORACLE APPLICATIONS TECHNICAL OVERVIEW OF RICE COMPONENTS ORACLE APPLICATIONS

This module starts with basics of RICE objects Overview: Duration 16 Hours

• Introduction to RICE.

• Introduction to Inbound and Outbound Interfaces. • Working with Open Interfaces, Conversions. • Design Pre-Interfaces or Staging tables. • Loading data from different flat files into pre-interface tables. • Standards to follow while writing an interface program. • Explanation of Seeded interfaces (Order Import and Autolockbox). • Introduction to Reports and Reports Builder. • Definition of Report Triggers. • Working with Bind and Lexical parameters. • Report with multiple queries (Groups in reports). • Customizing report Triggers. • Working with summary columns, formula columns, format triggers etc.,

This module covers additional tools used in customizing RICE objects. Overview: Duration 8 Hours

• Introduction to SQL*Loader. • Different formats of Control file. • Different formats of Data files. • Using direct load and indirect load. • Registering SQL*Loader Scripts. • Case studies in SQL Loader. • Introduction to Unix Shell scripting. • Basic UNIX commands. • Working with Advanced commands like AWK and SED.

• Basics of UNIX Shell scripting. • Writing functions in unix, creating environment variables in unix. • Shell scripting for oracle applications. • Calling concurrent programs from unix shell and mailing log and output files. • Opening oracle sessions and calling packaged procedures in unix shell. • Spooling data from a unix script for conversions. • Writing FTP programs to move data files across servers. • Introduction to Oracle AIM Methodology. • Step to follow while designing and development of project.
