HULME MARTIN HEAT SEALERS
Stand Up Pouch Sealer
When sealing liquids, powders, sauces, soup, tubes and stand up pouches
it has always been a little difficult – your problem is solved!
Our Stand Up Pouch Sealer has been specifically designed to seal
laminated pouches and tubes keeping them in the upright position. It is a
freestanding vertical sealer, which has been designed and manufactured
by Hulme Martin Heat Sealers. The sealing head is adjustable in relation
to the work surface for various sized pouches, bags and tubes.
It offers a 320mm x 6mm seal with both sealing jaws heated to cope with
the most demanding of materials. The sealing height is adjustable, from
50 to 350mm from the work surface and 50 to 250mm with the optional
adjustable product support. Special stands can be manufactured with
greater adjustment on request. The seal jaws open 25mm, which helps to
ensure the bags closes and seal evenly when the bag is filled. As the jaws
are parallel to the work surface the seal is square along the top of the bag.
The Pouch sealer is operated via a single operating handle that locks into
position and is easily released once the sealing cycle is complete. It can
be operated with very little effort. It is designed with special pressure jaw
arms, which ensures a good sealing pressure along the full length of the
seal jaws. The easy to operate handle offers a holding force of 180Kg and
with the specifically designed linkage increasing this to over 250Kg of
pressure, ensuring a great seal every time.
As you can see from the side
view picture of the sealing
jaws, both heating jaws move
together. Rather than a
traditional design of one fixed
jaw and one moving, by
having both jaws moving
helps with the equal closure of
the bag opening giving less
opportunity for the bag to
crease and produce holes in
the seal. The opening between
the jaws is only 25mm so when the bag is positioned into the sealer it
leaves less possibility for the bag to fold over on itself.
We use high quality components and manufacture the machines in the
UK at our site in Surrey, to our strict quality procedures. The machines
are manufactured from mild steel and have a high gloss white powder
coat hardwearing finish. The machines are CE marked and comply with
RoHS regulations. All our machines are fully portable appliance tested
and put through our rigorous quality procedures to ensure they offer
many years of reliable service.
Spares and consumable items are easy to replace by the user and
replacement parts are always available from stock. As a UK manufacturer
of heat sealing machines for over 60 years we know our reputation relies
on supplying a high quality service to our customers at the right price.
Heating elements are simply changed by removing the jaw cover, fitting a
locking pin to hold the sprung expansion brackets undoing a couple of
nuts and replacing with a new wire and barrier tape – serviced in under 4
minutes!
If you use several sizes of pouches or bags then the optional product
support can be invaluable. This allows the head of the sealing machine to
be positioned in its highest position and the shelf is simply adjusted up
and down the frame for the correct positioning of the seal on the bag. The
product can then be slid in from the side and open end of the sealing jaws
for quick easy loading of the machine. It also assists if you want to seal a
few smaller bags at a time. The adjustable product support also comes
with a backstop to help locate the bags into the machine.
Our sealers are commonly used for:-
 Sauces and Soups
 Coffee Pouches
 Engineered Components
 Sweets and Confectionery
 Bird Nuts and Seed
 Waste products
 Medical drugs
 Medical supplies
 Police evidence bags
TUBE SEALER
The machine can also be used to seal polyethylene, laminated and
polypropylene tubes. By using the optional product support with specially
designed tube holders several tubes can be sealed at the same time.
With a simple operating lever that locks into position during the sealing
cycle this machine is ideal to seal tubes. Both seal jaws are heated to
ensure a high quality seal is produced on the top of the tube. By using a
6mm wide element wire the tubes can be positioned so the open edge of
the tube is sealed giving a professional smooth finish.
Both of the sealing jaws move together with the final sealing position
being central to the tube, this helps with the alignment of the seal as the
tube is not twisted off centre. With the adjustable shelf alignment guides
it can be used with bespoke tube holders made for your tubes, this
enables easy loading of a few tubes at a time to reduce production times.
The Tube support holder holds the tubes securely whilst filling and can
then be slid from the side if the
machine into the sealing position, by
simply closing the handle the pressure
is applied along the full length of the
sealing jaws to seal all the tubes
evenly.
Whilst the tube holder is not essential
as shown it helps with the quick
positioning of the tubes. The High
pressure produced through the
operating handle can also squeeze out
small amounts of liquids whilst
sealing the tube.
The Hulme Martin Stand Up Pouch / Tube Sealer is the new addition of
our expanding range of quality Heat Sealing machines, all of which we
manufacture in the UK. Our range of heat sealers range from a simple
230mm hand operated model to a 760mm foot pedal operated machine.
We have been manufacturing machines for over 60 years and the quality
and reliability of our machines reflect the experience gained over those
years.
The machines are CE marked and comply with RoHS requirements.
Hulme Martin Heat Sealers Duty of Care Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in
Electrical and Electronic Equipment(RoHS) The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.
All machines manufactured from 1st April 2006 comply with the above directive.
Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE) The WEEE Directive aims to reduce the quantity of waste from electrical and
electronic equipment and increase its re-use, recovery and recycling. From 1
st March 2007 Hulme Martin machines are marked with the ‘crossed out wheeled bin symbol’ to
ensure they are dealt with separately from general waste We can arrange to collect machines that are
no longer required and ensure they are either recycled or disposed safely. We will record details of all
collected and recycled machines.
WEEE REG No WEE/DB1381SS
Packaging Directive Directive 2004/12/EC (94/62/EC). Whilst we are not required to register under this directive we use
minimal packaging to ensure your purchase reaches you in a first class condition. Packaging used has
been recycled wherever possible and can be reused or recycled by the receiver.
EC Declaration of Conformity Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
The Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC
Electromagnetic compatibility directive 2004/108/EC.
Our machines comply with the above directives. All new machines are built to a high
standard and subjected to visual and electrical tests at several stages during their
manufacture. Once assembled we produce test seals to ensure quality standards are
met. Finally every machine is Portable Appliance Tested to ensure electrical safety
requirements are met.
ISO 9000 Quality Management Hulme Martin Heat Sealers Ltd operates from documented quality management systems to ensure we meet our customers’ requirements. We conform to the required directives as listed above, and our equipment meets CE requirements. Customers are welcome to visit our factory to inspect our documentation and manuals.
