DAY 1: OCTOBER 6, 2019

After breakfast at the hotel this morning, you will depart for the airport for your short flight to Prague. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your local hotel. The day is free to explore independently with lunch on your own.

Dinner will be provided at a local restaurant.

DAY 2: OCTOBER 7, 2019

Prague, Czech Republic

After breakfast, you will depart today to begin your explorations.

Take a walk back through time on your tour of the famous Castle District. Having evolved over 1100 years from the seat of medieval kings to the home of modern presidents, this part of the city is steeped in more than a thousand years of Bohemian history. Your guide will take you across the river where you’ll see amazing views of the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and the Rudolfinum. You’ll also visit the Strahov Monastery, the highest point of the Castle Hill. The first part of the tour covers the Castle District and the second part covers the Castle grounds, courtyards, St. George’s Basilica, Powder Tower, the Old Royal Palace, Golden Lane, and St. Vitus Cathedral. The tour finishes at the castle gate facing the city - a great spot to keep exploring the Castle, Mala Strana or take the 10-minute walk back to Old Town Square.

After lunch at a local restaurant, follow your guide around the grand Old Town Square, explore the atmospheric Jewish district and marvel at landmarks like the Astronomical Clock and the Tyn Cathedral. After strolling along the iconic Charles Bridge, hop aboard for a 45-minute sightseeing cruise and tuck into a complimentary drink or ice cream as you glide beneath Strahov Hill and Prague Castle.

Dinner is on your own this evening.

DAY 3: OCTOBER 8, 2019

Prague, Czech Republic

After breakfast at the hotel, explore the Jewish Quarter. A visit to Josefov will show you what remains of the old Jewish Quarter of Prague. Although much of it has been destroyed and built over by modern buildings, you can still get a feel for its past and visit the synagogues and cemetery overseen by the Jewish Museum. The Jewish population of Prague began to be persecuted during the Crusades and was eventually

contained in a walled ghetto. Periods of relative prosperity and peace, with a certain degree of self-administration, alternated with oppression and horrific massacres. Ironically, the survival of much of the Old Quarter and many of the artifacts in the Jewish Museum’s collection is due to the Nazis, who assembled the objects and marked out the sites for a museum of an ‘extinct race’.

Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant with the remainder of the day free to continue exploring on your own.

You might opt to do some more shopping or visit a local spa where services can be purchased as desired (additional expense).

DAY 4: OCTOBER 9, 2019

Depart today for your return to the U.S. and your connecting flights home.
