Dear Colleagues,

Today, more than ever, companies and authorities in the healthcare sector look at ways to collaborate and create synergies for the benefit of the entire system and ultimately the patient. The pharmaceutical sector is no different and supply chain partners delve into establishing closer ties among each other in order to continuously meet the delivery of quality care. That is why for GIRP’s 56th Annual General Meeting in Belgrade, we invite you to embark on a quest to learn about best practice examples on ways to ‘Optimizing Healthcare – Effective Supply Chain Management’.

The conference programme will comprise various sessions covering a wide range of topics from partnerships in the supply chain, to specialty medicines and best practice examples of integrated care programmes.

We will be joined by various top representatives of the pharmaceutical supply chain, who will share with us their views on means to best optimize healthcare in Europe.

Our 56th annual conference will kick off with a session focused on the pharmaceutical market of our host country, Serbia, with participation from pharmaceutical wholesalers and other key supply chain representatives to discuss the current challenges that the sector is facing and the future trends. The afternoon talks will be centered on collaborative partnerships for real-life pharmaceutical supply chain management. The session will welcome on stage two keynote speakers, Mr. Oliver Windholz the CEO of PHOENIX Group and Mr. Nick Haggar, Head of Western Europe, Middle-East & Africa for Sandoz. The participants in the panel session are high-level representatives of the pharmaceutical industry and wholesalers. Together, they will share their experiences and bring real-life examples of successful collaborations along the pharmaceutical supply chain.

The IMS session is scheduled on the second day of the conference and will revolve around the distribution of specialty medicines, balancing the opportunities and challenges of delivering such medication to patients. We are very happy to have with us our regular and highly appreciated IMS invitees, Mr. Per Troein and Mr. Doug Long giving an overview of the status of specialty distribution in Europe and US. We are very pleased to also welcome on stage for a keynote address Mr. Marc Owen, the Chairman of the Management Board of Celesio, who has been working for many years on this topic.

We will close the conference with a session on integrated care programmes. More specifically, we have invited European Commission officials and experts in the area to showcase their success stories, the results of the care programmes implemented and the added value brought to the healthcare system.

We have prepared for you not only a stimulating conference programme, but also various social activities, to which we cordially invite you to in order to discover and enjoy the magic of Belgrade.

As President of GIRP, I look forward to personally welcome you to our 56th Annual General Meeting in Belgrade.

BUSINESS PROGRAMME

Medicines play a vital role in maintaining the sustainability of the healthcare sector in each country. Patients rely heavily on the ‘well-oiled’ machinery of medicines availability and supply chain partners strive every day to ensure that the right medicines reach the right patient in perfect safety and in due time. Healthcare providers need to create, develop and grow close partnerships among each other, in order to be able to deliver the best quality of care. Pharmaceutical supply chain partners are no exceptions to this rule. Therefore, for its 56th Annual General Meeting, GIRP invites you to join healthcare leaders of the pharmaceutical supply chain, European and national decision-makers and international experts as they come to Belgrade to discuss ways to optimize healthcare by ensuring an effective supply chain management.

We look forward to welcoming you to this top-level event!

GALA DINNERMonday, 8th June 2015

20:30 onwardsDRESS CODE: COCKTAIL ATTIRE

Palace of Serbia The Palace of Serbia is the largest and most spectacular masterpiece of modernist architecture in Belgrade, and one of the first buildings to be constructed in the New Belgrade district. Built in 1947 as the palace of the Federal Executive Council of Yugoslavia, symbolizing the birth of a new socialist futurist nation with its own symbols and landmarks, it was the main government building in which President Tito welcomed delegations from around the world. Perhaps even more interesting than its architectural features is the interior decoration, featuring halls dedicated to each of the republics of former Yugoslavia, decorated according to the ethnic styles of the republics. Its H-shaped base covers an area of approximately 65,000 square meters thus making it the largest building in Serbia by area covered. We invite you to dine just in front of Tito’s office, and be enchanted by one of the World’s largest chandeliers, which has a diameter of 18 meters, weighs over 9 tons and shines with 4300 light bulbs.
