I know summer is a fun time for family and vacations, but it was nice to have our church family back together for Sunday worship. I was so thrilled to see a full house this past Sunday morning. I really appreci-ate Bro. Frankie Wade sharing a testimony of God’s work at the Be-lize Vo-Tech Center. Every time I hear him speak, I marvel at his tre-mendous faith in God to supply their every need. I hope you were as inspired by his testimony as I was. I also thoroughly enjoyed our time of worship and fellowship with our Methodist neighbors. Bro. Tim Sisk delivered a powerful sermon, and it was great pleasure to wor-ship as a united Body of Christ. If you’re following along, we are in Week 33 in our reading plan. This week, the readings will cover passages from Mark, Luke, and John. Last week’s readings primarily focused on the Sermon on the Mount. This week’s readings primarily pick up right where we left off and describe some of the events from the early part of Jesus’ min-istry. The passage in Luke 9 describes Jesus and the disciples feeding the 5,000, Jesus on the Mountain of Transfiguration with Peter, James, and John, and a later conversation with the disciples about being the greatest in the Kingdom. The passage in Mark 9-10 covers some of the same stories and introduces some other stories around that same time frame. The stories in Luke 12 and Luke 14 primarily focus on discussions Jesus had with the Pharisees. While the stories in Mark and Luke primarily focus on public conver-sations between Jesus and his disciples or Jesus and the religious teachers, the passages in John are private conversations. In John 3, Jesus had a secret meeting at night with a Pharisee named Nicode-mus. In John 4, Jesus had an unlikely meeting with a Samaritan wom-an near Jacob’s well. Both of these conversations were risky in their own ways. This Sunday, we’ll study both of these risky conversations in John. In the morning service, we’ll study John 3. In the evening service, we’ll study John 4. I hope to see you here Sunday. Keep going in the read-ing plan and have a blessed week! In Christ, Jason

A Message from Carter’s Corner This week in the life of our youth, we are having our annual Youth Kick-off event this upcoming Saturday. Our seniors decided this year, to have our kick-off on the campus of Blue Mountain College. This is exciting for our youth, as many of them attended a kids’ music camp years ago at Blue Mountain and will now get to visit this Baptist college again. This year at our kick-off event, our students will be competing in a scavenger hunt and several free-time activities. We are grateful for the faculty, staff, and administration at Blue Mountain College for hosting our kick-off event this weekend. Our students are back in school again and this week is the first full week of the entire year. Many activities such as ballgames and band competitions will begin soon. We are excited to watch our students here at FBC perform during these events. During this past week, we have had a back-to-school swim party, as well as a Promotion Sunday Breakfast that our new 7th graders attended. We are praying that God will use these new 7th graders this upcoming year in a mighty way for His Kingdom. So, today, I ask that you pray for our new youth group and this upcoming year that God will use them to construct His Kingdom in His way. In Speech In Conduct In Love In Faith In Purity
