Exciting and innovative three or four year routes for 3-7 and 5-11

age ranges with many distinctive features.

• Hands-on experience in many different partnership schools.

• An advanced level of understanding and critical awareness of

concepts and theories related to education.

• Modules covering the full range of the new 2014 National

Curriculum and other national priorities

• A four year option with advanced study and leadership skills in a

National Curriculum subject and the possibility to pick up further

interests as well as Masters credits.

Entry Requirements

• GCSEs (Grade C or above) in at least 5 subjects. These

MUST include English, Mathematics and Science

• Typically ABB at A2 or equivalent (BTEC, IB, CACHE,

ACCESS are all welcome)

• Recent experience of working with children in a school

setting

• Professional Skills Tests

An exciting and innovative 3 or 4 year route for primary

English and Maths Specialists (7-11)

• An advanced level understanding and critical

awareness of concepts and theories related to

education.

• Modules offering a broad working knowledge of the

primary core and foundation subjects and National

Priorities

• Secure knowledge of your specialist subject beyond

that which is necessary for teaching in Key Stage 2.• The capacity to respond to the changing educational context, including issues relating to cross-phase transition between KS2 and KS3.• Similar 4 year opportunities as other BA Primary routes

Professional Skills Tests

The University of Brighton recommend that you prepare carefully

before attempting the tests, as you are limited to only three

attempts per test.

• You should apply for the tests as soon as you apply to UCAS

• You need not have passed the tests before they come to an

interview, although this would be an advantage. 

• Any offer of a place will include a timescale for passing the tests
