Become an Apprentice!

As employees, apprentices earn a wage and work alongside experienced staff to gain skills. Apprentices also receive valuable training to work towards nationally recognised

qualifications. The minimum salary is £2.50 per hour, however, many apprentices earn significantly more. There may be different entry requirements depending on the Apprenticeships and the industry sectors. Competition for places can be fierce so you will need to show you are committed.

COURSES Foundation Learning is for those aged between 16-18 and who are not in education, employment or training (up to 25 for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities). Qualifications are at entry level and/or level 1 and include functional skills (English, maths and ICT) and personal & social development.

After Foundation Learning, students can progress on to:

• Other Foundation Learning programmes • Level 2 courses at college

• Employment with training • Volunteering

• Apprenticeships • The Diploma

17 week course - 3 days a week. Exciting courses run by creative industry experts! £25-£30 per week paid to those eligible for bursary on Brighton courses. Up to £100 attendance reward on completion of the course. A focus on skills, jobs & routes into further education. Leave with a CV, qualifications, work portfolio, references AND the chance to get a work placement in creative businesses! DV8 Training - BRIGHTON: On2 Media Mix Course

Retail and Customer Service Apprenticeships for 16-18 year olds You will enhance your employability skills by:

• Undertaking work experience and gaining employer references

• Working towards achieving an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Services

• Improving your numeracy & literacy qualifications, working towards Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy

The programme lasts up to 6 months and you will be required to work 16 hours a week. You will also receive £50 per week in expenses

PRINCE’S TRUST TEAM PROGRAMME

Run by City College in Brighton, Hove

and Shoreham

FREE 12 week programme for 16-25 year olds who are unemployed. The programme will help

to build confidence and motivation, develop new skills and qualifications. It will look great on

your CV and you will have the skills and confidence to apply for a full-time course at City College

for September if you wish to do so.

The course includes: � an action packed residential week�a work experience placement Travel is free and there are no course costs.
