Welcome to the third Opportunities Fair to be held in Birmingham.We have listened to what people have said and hope that this year wehave put together an event to support and excite you.

We are proud to tell you that the team who have planned and organised theevent are made up of; people who use services, supportive citizens, staff frombusinesses and charities outside the council and staff who work for thecouncil.

The Fair is supported by ‘Making it Real’ a group working together to improvelife for citizens with disabilities in Birmingham. The group have chosenstatements that they want to make real. The statement that the OpportunitiesFair is working towards making real is;

‘I have access to a range of support that helps me live the life I want andremain a contributing member of my community.’

We hope you will agree that the fair supports people to be part of positive andinclusive communities.

We have decided to hold the Opportunities Fair in April this year to reach outto young people in transition between children’s and adult services. We hopewe have provided some ideas and opportunities to help young people andtheir family carers make some choices about the future.

Have a wonderful time at today’s event.
