• Purpose– Moving beyond homework and targeting the root problem.

• General Method– Targeting critical, foundational academic skills– Targeting children most in need of those skills– Delivering research-based intervention

• General Goal– Improvement in target academic skills– “Getting back on the train”– Realistic – not changing the entire academic profile

• Target Skills– Math computation fluency

Your Role

• Work with a small group of students using specific techniques.

• Forming relationships with kids to build trust and facilitate learning.

• Communicate with YouthBASE about any needs or issues.
