The strategyPerfection from the product right through to ourcustomer service, rapid conversion of the customer’srequirements into practical and economic automationsolutions. Day in, day out, more than 100 highly quali-fied staff set themselves this challenge. As a custo-mer-facing organisation, we develop innovative pro-ducts for the world-wide plant and machinery market. Many of our ideas have helped to shape the world ofautomation. Today, in Germany alone, over 1 000well-known customers employ our products with totalconfidence. Lauer, a synonym for maximum flexibility with maxi-mum economy. Today, tomorrow, always.

The historyFounded in 1971 • 1975 start up in micro-computertechnology • 1985 our first steps in automation withtext displays • 1988 present the first intelligent opera-ting console, suitable for all PLC systems • 1991 pre-sent the first industrial PC with TFT colour flat-paneldisplay • 1992 the supreme operating console, thePCS topline • 1993 the new PCSPRO project planningsoftware revolutionizes the task of project planning •1995 first operating console with colour • 1997 open-Automation - our entry into total automation • 1999first embedded PC with Windows CE • 2001 WOP-iT -the Web Operating Panel • 2003 MEI - ManufacturingExecution Interface

Operating & Monitoring

What else do I need ...The project planning software package helps you to rea-lize the very unique operating ideas you have quickly anderror-free. LCA/PCS introduce thousands of controls andfunctions for unlimited operation.

LCA/PCS 733 programming cable is included to transferall operating projects created with LCAPRO, PCSPRO,PCSPROWIN and PCSPRO PLUS to the LCA/PCS. Transfer-ring from the LCA/PCS back to the PC is also possible.

The technical manuals LCA200, LCA301, PCS 091,PCS 991, PCS 995, PCS 996 and PCS 9091 have all ofthe information concerning the LCA/PCS that you’re loo-king for.

We have the right driver for every PLC. In the appendixPCS 91. xxx of the manual you will find the data handlingsoftware on 3.5” floppy diskette as well as an exact des-cription of the driver. Please ensure that you use theappropriate adapter cable.

The project planning and data handling software as well asthe programming cable LCA/PCS 733 are needed onceonly, however a separate adapter cable is needed for everyLCA/PCS!

Be in the know, and at almost no char-ge. The one-size-fits-all LCA text panelsdemonstrate what your machine andc o n t roller can do 1024 ways, evenwhen it comes to multiple languages.R e g a rdless of the type of data, a pre c i-se display or report is easily made viacontact points or PLC or serial interfa-c e s .

Despite its compact size, the LCA ise x t remely high-performance and can bec o n f i g u red to your individual re q u i re-ments and of course to every PLC.The PCS are the interface between manand production pro c e s s .

LCA 245The LCA 245 text display can displayup to 512 messages with a maximumof 32 lines (or 1 280 characters). Mes-sage texts can be written to the RAMm e m o r y. All ASCII characters are per-missable. With the LCA 245 you can select bet-ween four message versions (i.e.d i rect, last, first, and cycle messa-ging). The LCA 245 can store every messa-ge until it is released. The PLC swit-ches a message on and off and deter-mines how long it remains in the textdisplay via 5 front-facing plastic-cove-red keys which are easy to use. The text display can combine 127e x t e rnal variables and concrete textsin one message. All ASCII and BCDcharacters are permissable as varia-bles. The number of variables andtheir positions are optional. The LCA 245 can be controlled withany PLC when BCD/BIN encoded.

LCA 710The need for robust yet easy-to-usen-board panel printers is well known. The LCA 710 industry printer wasdesigned with this in mind. It is a low-cost device for all standard print jobs.Data entry takes place via a serialnterface (V24/RS 232). The printer motor and electronics areencased in a robust aluminium hou-sing. Exchanging paper and colourribbons is made on the device’s frontside. The housing dimensions allowthe device to be built into a 19” 3HEmodule assembly frame or in anydesired front panel. A tensioningmechanism is used to mount theprinter during front-side installation.

Six important reasons for rational operation Feature 1

PCS puts an end to the overabundance of keys, swit-ches, lamps, displays ... that all have to be positioned, wired and mounted.

Feature 2PCS win: maximum flexibility through several PLC dri-vers, no difference whether serial or via field-bus.

Feature 3The PCS guarantees not only a uniform operating interfa-ce for many different types of PLC systems, but is alsoconsistent in functionality from the PCS 009 to the PCS950.

Feature 4The innovative PCS operating concept is especially eco-nomical, understandable and helpful to the user in everysituation.

Feature 5The project planning software PCSPROWIN ensures light-ning-quick, well structured project planning, changes andexpansions of a desired operation. No difference whetherWIN 98, WIN NT/2000 or WIN XP is used.

Feature 6The communications principle on which the PCS/PLC isbased is simple: The PCS writes a numerical target value(BIN or BCD) in a defined data word area. This targetvalue is read by the PLC. The PLC sets a bit from log 0to log 1 in a PCS-type data word. The PCS recognizesthis bit and calls a message text. Special PLC driversensure perfect timing between the PCS and PLC.

What you see is was you getUnlimited, supersonic operating, planningand simulation potential

PCSPROWIN assist you in creating operatingand display projects for the PCSWIN operatingconsoles.

Error-free log lists stored in project files are writ-ten to the PCS in compiled format via downlo-ad and, if necessary, reimported.

n the main menu you can select the PLCsystem along with the special data or flag orga-nisation, the corresponding PLC driver and thePCS. It doesn’t get any simpler than this!

Support for copying, pasting and deleting ofvariables and texts is also included as is thewell-designed menu structure and a completeoverview of the data word and address rangesselected. The PCSPROWIN project planning soft-ware are self-explanatory and have help files forevery function. The software presents all pictu-es as they will be displayed later on.

The project planning software simulates thePLC, thereby allowing a comprehensive test ofthe PCS to be conducted at your desktop.Changes or corrections are able to be madeimmediately.

The project planning software runs on all PCsand PUs where Windows operating systemsare installed. The PCSPROWIN runs either on Windows 98, NT, 2000 and XP.
