OPeraTIOnTheairregulatorknobcanbeusedtoadjusttorquetotheapproximatetightnessofaknownfastener.Tosetthetooltodesiredtorque,selectanutorscrewofknowntightnessofthesamesize,threadpitchandthreadconditionasthoseonthejob.Turnairregulatorknobtolowposition,applywrenchtonutandgraduallyincreasepower(turnairregulatorknobtoadmitmoreair)untilnutmovesslightlyinthedirectionitwasoriginallyset.Thetoolisnowsettoduplicatethattightness-noteairregulatorknobsettingforfutureuse.Whentighteningnutsnotrequiringcriticaltorquevalues,runnutupflushandthentightenanadditionalone-quartertoone-halfturn(slightadditionalturningisnecessaryifgasketsarebeingclamped).Foradditionalpowerneededondisassemblywork,turnairregulatorknobtoitsfullyopenposition.Thisimpactwrenchisratedat3/4"SAEboltsize.RatingmustbedowngradedforspringUbolts,tiebolts,longcapscrews,doubledepthnuts,badlyrustedconditionsandspringfastenersastheyabsorbmuchoftheimpactpower.Whenpossible,clamporwedgethebolttoprevent

springback.Soakrustednutsinpenetratingoilandbreakrustsealbeforeremovingwithimpactwrench.Ifnutdoesnotstarttomoveinthreetofivesecondsusealargersizeimpactwrench.Donotuseimpactwrenchbeyondratedcapacityasthiswilldrasticallyreducetoollife.

Theairregulatorknobisalsousedtochangetherotationofthetool.Whentheairregulatorknobisturnedtotheright,thetoolisinaforwardorrighthandrotation.Whentheairregulatorknobisturnedtotheleft,therotationisreversedorlefthandrotation.

NOTE:Actualtorqueonafastenerisdirectlyrelatedtojointhardness,toolspeed,conditionofsocketandthetimethetoolisallowedtoimpact.

Clean the air inlet filter screen on at least aweeklyschedule.Therecommendedhook-upprocedurecanbeviewedinFigure1.The air inlet (Figure 2), used for connecting air supply, hasstandard3/8"NPTAmericanThread.Linepressureshouldbeincreasedtocompensateforunusuallylongairhoses(over25feet).Minimumhosediametershouldbe1/2"I.D.andfittingsshouldhavethesameinsidedimensions.

TrOuBleshOOTIngOtherfactorsoutsidethetoolmaycauselossofpowerorerraticaction.Reducedcompressoroutput,excessivedrainontheairline,moistureorrestrictionsinairpipesortheuseofhoseconnectionsof improper size or poor conditions may reduce air supply. Ifoutside conditions are in order, and the tool still performserratically, disconnect tool from hose and take tool to yournearestMatcoauthorizedservicecenter.

luBrIcaTIOn & MaInTenanceLubricate the tool daily with a good grade of air tool oil. If noairlineoilerisused,run1/2ounceofoilthroughthetool.TheoilcanbesquirtedintothetoolairinletFigure2,orintothehoseatthenearestconnectiontotheairsupply,thenrunthetool.Arustinhibitive oil is acceptable for air tools. Grease fitting onyoke occasionally to ensure proper lubrication of the ratchetmechanism.

Elreguladordelairepuedeserutilizadoparaajustarelniveldetorsiónaunadurezaaproximada,parecidaaunaabrazaderaconocida.
