Profiles – Payment type Added

The Payment Method field may be screen painted on the Profile screen More Fields tab for company, contact, agent, and source profiles. (The Reservations>Payment Types Per Window application parameter must be set to Y in order to use this functionality.) Select the down arrow to define the payment method that should be applied when default routing instructions are associated with a reservation. 

Profiles – Courtesy Card

The courtesy card parameter allows the user to link payment types to the membership rule set for Revenue linked to the membership type. When checking out a guest which has a membership type based on revenue attached, the user will be prompted if they wish to calculate the points.

Profiles – Add On

Individual profiles have the new feature called Add On. This enables for faster creation of profiles which have similar attributes but different names.

Profiles – Search within profile search

This new parameter gives more flexibility how one can search within the Profile screen. When Parameter is set to ‘N’, the large grey single button Select Another Guest will display over the existing search field and grid. Once selected it will take you the regular profile search screen. 

Reservations – Rate Query Enhancement

A new alternates buttons is available from the ANALYZE form, which now displays a calendar showing availability and restrictions for the entire month

Reservations – Default Payment for Sharers

This parameter allows you to specify a default reservation payment type for a sharer that can be changed at the time the share is set up. 

Another time saving feature has been added to the combine share screen : No Post, this allows the user to control no‐post without opening the new reservation. 

Reservations –DNM for Sharers

If a share reservation has the DNM check box marked it will be displayedcheck box marked it will be displayed with a red background, similar to the red background colour for the room number field in the reservation screen. Users will not be able to select this sharer until the DNM check box is removed.

Reservation–Auto Check in For Shares

When this parameter is active and a reservation having sharers is checking in, any other sharers whose arrival date is today’s date will be automatically checked in without prompts, including a prompt for keys. 

Reservations –Privacy Prompt

When the feature Profile Privacy is turned on, we can have the privacy screen appear upon the guest Check in.  

Reservations – Daily Details Amount

The Rate Amount field may be directly edited on the Daily Details grid.

Reservations - Dashboard

The General>Dashboard Layout View application setting allows users to chooseapplication setting allows users to choose either of two Dashboard configurations. Layout 1 is the "classic" Dashboard and Layout 2 is more enhanced.

Enhanced search options allow search by first name and last name, conf./cxl no., membership type and/or number.

Additional information is displayed in the reservation section.

Reservations – Component Suites

Component rooms are now function driven.

Rooms that belong to a component room will appear yellow on Room search, Rate query and room plan screens. 

A warning message will pop up ‘Component Room Warning’ when the room being assigned is part of a component room.

Reservations – Deposit / Cxl Screen

When a deposit payment has been made by a Credit card, the last 4 digits will appear in the payment method field

Once  a reservation has been cancelled with a deposit, you now have the ability to transfer the deposit from a cancelled reservation to another reservation 

Reservations – Deposit / Cxl Screen

You can now sort the cancelled reservations on the main Deposit /  Cancellation screen depending whether a cancellation penalty applies or not.

Reservations – PM & Shares

The reservation option Share is available for PM rooms. This is user right driven.

Reservations – Share Rate Splitting

A parameter allows users to access the rate amount split  (Entire, Split, Full) even if the reservations have a fixed rate.

Reservations – General Comment

A new comment type has been introduced to prevent from duplication of comments. 

Reservations – Guest Pay Only

This parameter is used to display only room revenue, packages, and generates for which the guest is the payer Ratefor which the guest is the payer. Rate charges that are routed to another payer are filtered from the display. 

Reservations – Party

Party has been separated from Group so that the party functionality can be used, even when the reservation is part of a group. 

Reservations – Fixed Charges

Blank date fields are allowed on the Fixed Charges screen, if applicable throughout the stay.

Reservations – Profile Search

When this parameter is active, users are not prompted to go to the profile search screen but are taken directly to the profile search screen if a partial match exists for a particular profile.

Reservations – Connecting Rooms

Opera has always had the connecting room feature. Now we provide the possibility to turn this feature on or off within Opera. When this parameter is active, we can configure connecting rooms in Opera and use them throughout the system.

Reservations – Reservation Discounts

Reservation Discounts can now be turned off if a hotel would not like to use that functionality. If this function is not activated the discount fields across the application will be hidden.

Reservations – Item Inventory Pool

This new feature allows selling of inventory itemsThis new feature allows selling of  inventory items that have a single shared inventory level. 

Blocks – Master / Sub Allocations

Create a number of sub blocks from a master block. Use to restrict the number of wholesale blocks definable from a master whole sale block.

Blocks – Room Instruction Copy

Updates to housekeeping instructions and the turndown indicator can be copies to all or selected blockcopies to all or selected block reservations

Rate Management – Rate Floor

A minimum rate amount is to be entered in this field which will be used to validate rate amounts added to the rate details. 

Rate Management – Owner Rate (OVOS)

OVOS: This feature is function drive If this check box is selecteddrive. If this check box is selected, the arrival date for all reservations using the owner rate code will automatically be "rolled" to the next business day, rather than automatically changing the reservation status to no show, 

Rate Management - Daily Rate

This feature is function driven and lets you change rates on a room type on daily basis.

Rate Management – Children Rate

New feature to identify how often children can stay free when a reservation has a particular rate code attached. 

Rate Management – Membership Rates

Membership Rates allow hotels to link specific rate codes to specific membership types with a date range. These are configured within membership configuration menuconfiguration menu.

Rate Management – Occupant Threshold

This new features gives more flexibility when creating a rate detail. It provides the ability to affect rates based on combinations of adults and children as well as thresholds.

Rate Management – Mandate Profile

Mandate Profiles allow properties to select particular profile types in configuration that are mandatory when making a reservation. 

Rate Management – Apartment Style

This function activates the ability to configure rates according to cycles and invoice the guest in advance based on the cycle selected. 

Packages– Forecast Tick box

When configuring packages, there is now the possibility to forecast packages when the POS Next Day Allowance is not selected. 

Packages– Package Details

When the Function Rates by Defined Buckets is turned on and the calculation rule on the package header is set ‘Per Child’ you are able to configure the package detail according to the age buckets defined in application settings. 

Front Desk – Auto Sharing Check-in

Automatically check in sharing guests and avoid the prompts

Cashiering – Auto Open Share With

When this parameter is active, and a billing screen is opened for a guest which has a sharer, the sharers billing screen will automatically open as well. 

Cashiering – Transaction Research

A new context menu option ‐Research ‐ has been added. 

This screen may be used to filter and sort postings for the current reservation, and transfer them to , fanother window or room. A Report button lets the user create a printed report of the displayed transactions.

Cashiering – Adjustments for Same day Postings

Postings can be now adjusted on the same business date as the posting has been made on. 

Additionally a user can adjust posting by routing code. 

Cashiering – Comments

The reservation comments can now be accessed from the billing options. 

Cashiering – Payment Method Display

To make operations more efficient a display code has been added to the payment trx codes. This code can in turn be used when applying a payment to a reservation. 

Cashiering – Reservation Payment Type Flag

A new Rreservation tick box has been added to the payment type screen which allowsA new Rreservation tick box has been added to the payment type screen, which allows the payment to appear as a payment option. This is not used for settlements.

Cashiering – Daily Plan Folio

Daily Plan, has been introduced to enable a flexible "Bed and Breakfast style" folio.

Cashiering – Include in Dep/Cxl

A new check box Deposit/CXL Rule check box is available on the Transaction Codes ‐ Edit screen. 

When this check box is selected, the transaction code will be included in the calculation of deposit and cancellation rule f h l d h i dfees. When un‐selected, the transaction code will be excluded from deposit and cancellation fee calculations. 

Cashiering – Routing Repeat Button

A repeat button has been added to the routing configuration configuration.

Cashiering – Routing Days of the Week

You can now default for which days of the week a routing code is applicable for.

The days of the week are also available when creating a new routing instruction for a reservation.

Routing instruction on the reservation level also have a Covers Routing instruction on the reservation level also have a Covers field which is available when Routing Limit function is set to ‘Y’

Cashiering – Foreign Currency Handling

When this function is activated, the properties will have the ability to handle payments in different currencies, make currency exchange, configure foreign currencies and sell foreign currencies. This function directly effects the following application settings:

Cashiering – Dual Currency

The activation of Dual Currency will enable the guests to pay with the same currency as the rate code. The currency exchange rate used will depend on the setting of the exchange type on the rate headercurrency exchange rate used will depend on the setting of the exchange type on the rate header.

Days of the week and job codes can now be configured for each housekeeping attendant.

Housekeeping – No-Show & CXL

This new setting enables automatic assignment of a selected housekeeping room status to pre‐assigned rooms when the reservation is no show or when the reservation is cancelled on the arrival date. 

Housekeeping – Delete repairs over 90 days

When this parameter is active, it will automatically delete repairs that are greater than 90 days.  

Housekeeping – Show task sheet menu item

This new feature can only be used when a property has a PBX. When this feature is active, properties have the ability to calculate the speed of a room being cleaned and the whereabouts of housekeeping attendant. 

Housekeeping – Customize Facility Schedule

You can now customize the housekeeping task schedule prior to reservation check in.  This can be done by going to reservation options and facility scheduler.

Quick Keys – House Status Breakout

The Arrivals Expected field, Alt+E, or Arrivals Actual, Alt+A, displays a breakout that allows the Arrivals Expected and Arrivals Actual to be viewed by Market Group, Market Code, or Reservation Type.

A new field for Day of Arrival Cancels is now displayed on the House Status screen when the date entered is the current business date. This field will be populated with the number of Rooms, Persons and VIP's that are canceled on the arrival date.

Quick Keys – Room Assignment

When making a new reservation, should you select a room that has a connecting room from the Available Room Search screen, a message prompts whether you wish to make an additional reservation for the connecting room

Master and Sub‐Allocation tick box is now available on the Ctrl+F2.

A DNM indicator lamp now appears on the room plan for reservations and share reservations

A/R – Statement Numbering

When the AR>Statement Numbering application parameter is set to Y, Opera automatically assigns a unique number to the AR statement at the time it is generated.

The sample_statement_numbering report form must be used when implementing the AR Statement

A/R – ‘Order By’ Feature

This option allows users to choose the ordering of line item invoices printed on the statement. 

A/R – Fixed Charge Function

A/R Fixed charges can now be turned off or on according to the property specifications. 

A/R – Transaction Transfer

This new feature allows the transfer of individual postings from one invoice to another between accounts.

May not be applicable to specific countries local tax and reporting requirements.

A/R – Agent Account

When the AR>AR Account Agent application function is active ARapplication function is active, AR accounts may be assigned to an agent, whose ID may then be used to filter AR accounts.

General

PermissionsIt is no longer possible to grant the Opera Supervisor Permission Group to other existing User permission groups.

OtherThe Display Closing Script option controls whether or not the closing script is displayed at the conclusion of the reservation making process. This option has now been moved from the Department screen to the Job Titles screen

General – DNM in Simple Reports

The Do Not Move YN column has been added to the Reservation General View and is available for selection in Simple Report Writer. 

General – Pop Up Blockers

This new functionality, allows the property to control whether selected pop‐up messages and prompts are displayed or not throughout Opera. 

A default value can be assigned whether or whether the pop‐up message should appear at all.

General – Stream Printing

Opera Stream printing has been introduced which enables the background streaming of the report PDF file to a web browser window, which is then printed. The user is able to continue using Opera as the report generation and printing process occurs.

Requires Acrobat Reader V8.1.1 or V9.

General – Multiple EOD

This new feature is excellent for running e.g.:30 night audits in a row. Ideal for seasonal hotels. 

General – Address Cleansing System

When a property is using address cleaning system. In application settings the property can then select the system they are using. 

General – User Group Administration

This application function provides a user the ability to attach another user to a user group without first being part of that user group. 

General – Report Scheduler

Report scheduler has been enhanced with the possibility to turn on or off the function depending on the property requirements and license.
