as part of a complete site redesign and
content overhaul
● Adopted OpenEDU in February 2015,
specifically for a set of customizable site
templates for faculty, staff, and student
organizations.

OpenEDU Background
● Originally released on Drupal 7 in 2015
● Re-architected for Drupal 8
● D8 version a collaboration between ImageX & Acquia
● Acquia ran a survey of over 100 EDUs in 2016
● Formed a steering committee of 15 universities
● Development priorities validated through committee and customer
interviews
● ImageX secured a grant to fund OpenEDU from the Industrial Research
Assistance Program
