Throughout the development of communication technology, from the earliest 1G to today's 4G, the
communication rate is getting higher and higher;
5G compared to 4G, in capacity, bandwidth, delay and other communication indicators have a huge improvement
in all aspects;
However,the limitations of ground-based network coverage are not fundamentally addressed。 3

The network of satellite communications is very wide and is almost unconstrained by geographical circumstances. Satellite communication can assist 5G network to build a seamless global coverage of the sea, land, air, sky integrated communications network, to meet the user's ubiquitous multi-business needs.

Consensus: Satellite communications are an important part of 6G
Neil McRae, chief network architect of BT Group, has launched a disussion -
6G will be “5G + satellite network (communications, telemetry,
navigation)"
On March 24-26, 2019, "The world's first 6G wireless summit" was held at
Olu University, where ericsson, Huawei and dozens of other manufacturers
and operators attended the conference to discuss the development of 6G
technology, including "AI", "THz", "Satellite" and so on.

iterative upgrades, targeted development for Satellite-5G Integration, as
well as implementation and testing of research results, demonstration.
So, we choose OpenAirInterface

TCP / GTP acceleration No TCP / GTP acceleration
Due to the limited satellite channel capacity, TCP process will inevitably become congested, and the large delay will affect the efficiency of data retransmission. The header of the GTP protocol will be compressed in base station backhaul mode. Inside the GTP tunnel, the TCP protocol is accelerated, including removing the TCP
congestion window restrictions, TCP ACK protocol spoofing.
