BigSwitch Big Cloud Fabric innovation Built on top o f the Open Networking m odel
Brings hyper-scale networking to the enterprise • Disaggregated m odel – abstract, autom ate and
sim plify • SDN with POD design to o ffe r secure m ulti- tenancy
Architecture • Scalable L2, L3 and L4- 7 se rvice insertion/chaining • Multi- hypervisor support • Supports OpenStack and CloudStack
Operat ional simplificat ion • Single pane o f glass - Zero Touch Fabric Operations • Centralized troubleshoo ting
Scale & resiliency • High Availability (fabric- wide) – headless operation,
no single po int o f failure

• Control-plane Service is middleware infrastructure which provides DC-API (Data-centric API) to all the applications. Also provides State Storage.
• DC-API used by all software modules – primarily to configure & monitor Switching ASIC functionality, but not limited to it.
• Control-Plane adapter is essentially the Switch Driver - participates in Data-centric API, and invokes the switch-silicon SDK.
• Switching SDK exposes networking abstractions in the SDK layer
