OPEN CLASS RABBITS

breed standard as listed in the ARBA “Standard of Perfection”. Only breeds recognized by ARBA may be shown.

5. Exhibitors may enter no more than two rabbits per class with a maximum of eight rabbits in the open class division at the County Fair.

6. Exhibitors are responsible for dumping cage trays before leaving the fair grounds on Saturday. ALL DOGS MUST BE IMMUNIZED FOR DISTEMPER, HEPATITIS, LEPTOSPIROSIS, RABIES, AND PARVO VIRUS. PROOF OF VACCINATION MUST BE PRESENTED AT ENTRY. 4. BOURBON COUNTY FAIR FITTING CONTEST

Thursday, July 23, 2015 – Approximately 4:30 p.m. in Show Arena

CONTEST REGULATIONS Team entries: The contest may be open to more than one team per county. The teams

will be broken up by age categories: Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Teams will consist of 3 members. The oldest

member of the team will determine of which age category the team competes. A 15 year old member on a team with

two 7 year old members will compete in the senior division. The animal will be assigned a number before the contest

and the team will draw a number for the calf assignment. Supplies and equipment will not be provided. Grooming

chutes will be provided.

Single individuals will be placed on a team per the discretion of the superintendent. The entry fee will be $20 per

team or $7 per individual.

CONTEST RULES

1. The completion will be thirty minutes in length. A ten minute warning will be given. At the end of the 30

minute allotted time, clippers down and work stops.

2. An animal will be provided.

3. Each animal must be completely clean and dry.

4. No sawdust or artificial hair can be used.

5. Exhibitors will be judged based upon the following criteria: (A Quality of workmanship (B Team Skills-

OPEN CLASS FFA, CROPS, FLORICULTURE, HOME ECONOMICS Myers Memorial Building

a. Pre-registration is an option this year for open class. To pre-register, call Joyce Gobl at 223-1964 or Jackie Warren at 224-8161. As in the past, you will also be able to register at the Myers Building on July 20 between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

3. Myers Memorial Building will be open from noon to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

4. Exhibits must be removed 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25. 5. Prize money will be paid when article is checked out. No money will be mailed. 6. Not responsible for articles or prize money not collected by 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25. 7. All exhibits must have been harvested, prepared, or completed since the 2014 Bourbon County Fair. 8. An exhibitor may enter only one article in any one class. 9. Full prizes will be paid when there are three or more competitors in a class. 10. a. The Thursday Night Live FCE, Starlite FCE, and Pioneer Kiwanis Club will be in charge of the Memorial Building during the evenings.

b. All other clubs will take entries and should have from 3 to 5 members present entry day, Monday, July 20; through judging and displaying of articles Tuesday, July 21; and again check out day, Saturday, July 25.

SUNFLOWER AWARDS These special awards are sponsored by Mary Ann French in honor and in memory of Billie Wood, personal friend and dedicated fair worker. The categories represent Mrs. Wood’s particular interests and hobbies. This is an additional awards category. For example, an antique with a sunflower motif may be entered in any class and still be considered for this award. *Please mention that you want to be considered for the sunflower awards when entering. 1. Antique with best sunflower motif. 2. Art - any medium - with best sunflower motif. 3. Best display of one dozen sunflower blooms. 4. Quilt - any kind - with best sunflower motif. 5. BIG BALE DECORATING CONTEST

1. All entries must be pre-registered. Applications are available at the Chamber of Commerce or at www.bourboncountyfair. 2. Each participating team will be responsible for decorating. The team may furnish its own hay bale or one will be furnished. Please indicate on the pre-entry form if a bale is needed. Entry forms are available on our website: www.bourboncountyfair.com or contact Joyce Gobl at 620-223- 1964 for an entry form. 3. Each team will provide their own sign with the Organization/Business or Individual’s name on it. The sign will be stuck in the ground beside the bale facing the street. The sign will not be put up until the judging is completed on Tuesday, July 21st . 4. Bale decorating is to be completed by end-of-day on Monday, July 20. Bales will be judged on Tuesday, July 21. 5. Entries will be judged on eye appeal, construction, use of materials, and creativity. 6. Bales can be placed lying on their side or standing on end. This will be your choice. For safety purposes round bales will not be stacked on top of each other. 7. Decorations should be weather and wind-proof. They should be checked and maintained daily. 8. Paint may be applied to the on the bale of hay and on the grass surrounding the bale. 9. No political party signs or ANY KIND are allowed. 10. For safety we ask that no fireworks or any flammable products be used. 11. Please keep the area around your bale clean and free of trash. 12. Bales can be brought to the Fairgrounds as early as Saturday morning, July 18th. 13. Decorations may not be removed from bales before Saturday morning, July 25th. 14. All bales and decorations must be removed from the Fairgrounds by end-of-day Monday, July 27. Decorations and bales not removed by this time will be disposed of.
