Open and Affirming Discernment Process to ResumeWe are resuming the Open and Affirming discernment process that was paused due to the pandemic. The committee has rescheduled the covenant group welcome statement workshops for upcoming Sundays in July and August. Please see the schedule below:• Covenant Group #1: 7/12• Covenant Group #2: 7/19• Covenant Group #4: 7/26• Covenant Group #5: 8/2• Covenant Group #6: 8/9Each workshop will occur at 11:00 am and will be facilitated by 2 committee members (so as a deacon,
you will not have to lead the workshops). While the meetings are organized by covenant groups, people are welcome to attend a workshop for a different covenant group if they cannot attend their own. He now mentors new faculty at UTC. David has written books on biblical social ethics, the Hebrew language, and the debates about Charles Darwin. He enjoys playing guitar, sipping Gewurtztraminer wine, gardening, and riding out the current isolation in style with his wife Karen.

TN regiONal asseMBly 2020dear Fellow disciples,The TN 2020 Regional Assembly will be held on October 9-10, 2020. Making room at the Table: Seeking Unity in Our Diversity is the theme and our scripture is galatians 3:28. Because of COVid-19, it will be virtual. The Regional Assembly will still include dynamic speakers, meaningful worship, and purposeful business. it will have a different time schedule and internet will be needed. workshops will also be virtual and will begin in July and continue until September. They will cover topics like Faithful effective Coping, Creating space for sabbath, racial injustice-impact on Our Nation & Church, and Making room at the Table.This offers opportunities and challenges. your 2020 ra Planning Committee is looking forward to the opportunities, such as:• having more people attend or watch.• Enjoying all workshops because each has
separate time.• No travel.• less expense.The Committee is trying to anticipate & overcome the challenges, such as:• getting people excited.• having disciples register.• Keeping disciples informed of dates & times. • helping all disciples have access to watch ra.• asking for donations to cover honorariums
for speakers & workshop facilitators.The Committee needs your help. Please pray for the committee & for 2020 ra. No matter at what
stage your congregation is in with regard to reopening, we ask that you place information about 2020 ra in whatever communication you are using every time. Please put it in your newsletter, bulletin, and announce it during services and every church meeting. Attached to this email is a flyer that will be updated regularly with specific times and platforms for the workshops and finally with information for 2020 ra. we have a Facebook page, Tennessee disciples Regional Assembly 2020, that will have all the information also. Share the flyer & the Facebook page with your congregation.Please help us to make 2020 ra special & successful even though it will be different.
