D Vorbereitende Arbeiten
Bevor Sie den elektrischen Abgleich durchfhren, mssen Siefolgende Vorbereitungen treffen:Klang - Einstellung ......................................................................... 0Fader - Einstellung ......................................................................... 0Balance - Einstellung ..................................................................... 0
LautsprecheranschluDer Lautsprecherausgang mu mit 4 abgeschlossen sein.
AbgleichhinweiseWellenbereich:
FM = 87,5 MHz - 108,0 MHz(100 kHz automatische Suchlaufschritte)(50 kHz manuelle Suchlaufschritte)
MW = 531 kHz - 1602 kHz(9 kHz automatische Suchlaufschritte)(9 kHz manuelle Suchlaufschritte)
LW = 153 kHz - 279 kHz(9 kHz automatische Suchlaufschritte)(1 kHz manuelle Suchlaufschritte)
Fr den Abgleich mssen Sie die Stationstasten mit folgendenFrequenzen programmieren:
Opel Car 300
Taste 1 2 3 4 5 6FM1 MHz 98,0FM-AS MHz 98,0 98,0MW kHz 531 558LW kHz 153
Opel Car 2003
Taste 1 2 3 4 5FM1 MHz 98,0FM-AS MHz 98,0 98,0MW kHz 531 558LW kHz 153
GB Preparatory steps
Observe the following preparations before performing the electricalalignment:Sound adjustment .......................................................................... 0Fader adjustment ........................................................................... 0Balance adjustment ....................................................................... 0
Loudspeaker connectionsThe loudspeaker output must be terminated with 4 .
Notes on alignmentWaveband:
FM = 87.5 MHz - 108.0 MHz(100 kHz automatic search steps)(50 kHz manual search steps)
MW = 531 kHz - 1602 kHz(9 kHz automatic search steps)(9 kHz manual search steps)
LW = 153 kHz - 279 kHz(9 kHz automatic search steps)(1 kHz manual search steps)
The station preset push-buttons have to be be programmed for thealignment to the following frequencies :
Opel Car 300
push button 1 2 3 4 5 6FM1 MHz 98.0FM-AS MHz 98.0 98.0MW kHz 531 558LW kHz 153
Opel Car 2003
push button 1 2 3 4 5FM1 MHz 98,0FM-AS MHz 98.0 98.0MW kHz 531 558LW kHz 153
AM + FM alignment: - The AM and FM alignment has to be carried out if components
that determine the circuit's frequency have been replaced or de-tuned.
- After a repair or alignment job the basic parameters of theproduct have to be reprogrammed.
Radio-shieldingThe r-f alignment has to be performed with the bottom cover inplace. It is advisable to solder wires to the measuring points andprovide access from the top of the the main board or out throughholes in the side of the frame.

Display systemThe in-vehicle display (see owners manualof your car) is also used for the externalindication of the radio information.
In principle, the car can be fitted with one oftwo different display types:
8-digit display
10-digit display
The examples described in this user manualare based on the 8-digit display.
The information shown in the 10-digitdisplay mainly corresponds to that of the 8-digit version with the exception of thewaveband and the preset numbers of someradio functions.

Theft protectionSecurity coding
This car radio is equipped with a passivesecurity system. A coded unit is useless to athief. This is why you should code your unit(see page 22). The code number can befound in the Car Pass or Radio Pass. Do notkeep the Car Pass or Radio Pass in thevehicle.
When the unit is switched off and theignition key removed, the CODE LED =flashes to indicate that the set is equippedwith security coding.
Switching on / offSwitch the unit on and off bypressing knob 1.
Ignition-on logic
If the set was switched on with knob 1, itwill be turned off as soon as the ignition isswitched off and the ignition key removed(with some vehicle models directly afterignition OFF). The set will then restartplayback automatically after the ignition hasbeen switched on again. If desired, you canalso deactivate this ignition-on logic.
Deactivating the ignition-on logic:
- Switch on the ignition and turn offthe radio.

Manual tuning:(not with TP or RDS)
If you know the frequency of the station youwish to listen to, you may select it manually.
Rough tuning:Hold down the seek tuning button or until the frequency of the desired station hasalmost been reached.
Fine tuning:Press the seek tuning button or asmany times until the exact station frequencyappears in the display.
RDS is a service offered by most FM radiostations in Europe, which makes finding andreceiving the desired station much moreeasy.
Therefore, you should always switchon RDS!
RDS stations broadcast an inaudible, digitaldata telegram alongside their programmes.This signal carries a great deal of informationwhich is decoded by the RDS radioautomatically.
If RDS is switched on, the programmestation name is displayed instead of thefrequency.
Radio tuningSelecting a station
Waveband selection:
UM button 7
U = Ultra-short wave (FM)
M = Medium wave (MW)
Press the UM button as many times until thedesired waveband appears in the display(U, UAS, M, MAS).
On FM, when the radio is receiving a stereostation, signal will light up. The unit willautomatically switch to mono if the receivedsignal is not strong enough for stereoplayback.
Automatic tuning: (not with RDS stations)
Press seek tuning button : or (radiowill switch to mute).
lower frequencies (all stations)
higher frequencies (only powerfulstations)
The system will automatically change theseek tuning sensitivity if no powerful stationcan be picked up.
Each RDS programme is broadcast ondifferent frequencies. As you travel around,the car radio automatically checks the signalquality of the frequencies to be received andtunes into the best frequency of the RDSstation that you are listening to. Theprogramme station name in the displayremains unchanged.
Switching on RDS
Use the UM button 7 to switch to FM; thenactivate RDS by pressing the RDS button
