Onyx Solar has developed the first Low-e Photovoltaic Glass. It improves the properties of conventional glass, furthermore being able to generate green energy from the Sun.
This Low-e Photovoltaic Glass improves the thermal and sound insulation of the building and filters the ultraviolet and infrared radiation, avoiding adverse impact on people, furniture and buildings’ interior. At the same time, it allows to control the indoor temperature, achieving big savings on air conditioning systems and avoiding greenhouse effect so common in glass buildings.
For more information, please, consult "Low-e Photovoltaic Glass Technical Guide" on our website in the All You Need section.
LOW-E PHOTOVOLTAIC
GLASS
Our professionals gather 30 years of experience engineering and installing photovoltaic technology integrating it on buildings as well as in solar farms, accumulating over 50.000 installed kWp and 30.000 m2.

ALL YOU NEED
Onyx Solar has designed a completely free of charge Photovoltaic Estimation App.
Enter the value for the photovoltaic installation area you have in mind, select the photovoltaic technology, and it will display the energy that would be generated and its equivalencies in avoided CO2 emissions, hours of light and electric car mileage.
Use the screen of your smartphone to simulate the active surface of the photovoltaic glass, and just place it in the same position that your installation would be.The results will change depending on inclination and rotation of the device. Try it out and compare results for different design purposes.
TOOLESTIMATIONPHOTOVOLTAIC
WEB
Onyx Solar has developed a tool able to calculate the U-value (or thermal transmittance) of a photovoltaic glass system. This magnitude is important because it indicates the amount of heat that can be transmitted through a glass system, therefore, it is directly related to energy efficiency: less U-value means greater insulation and, therefore, greater efficiency.
In order to calculate the U-value, it will be necessary to know the number and thicknesses of each single glazed glass that makes up the panes, the characteristics of the spacer, if any, and the polymer sheets, should there be laminated glass units.
