The Seven Deadly Sin presentation looks at seven areas that lead to failed outcomes during disasters. Based on over 30 years managing disaster responses at the Local, State, and Federal Levels, the presentation looks at common themes, observations, and lessons learned by the presenter. The goal of the presentation is for the audience is to challenge their assumptions on how to prepare for their communities for disaster.

My Life in Weather Forecasting: A Career of Highs and LowsOver 35 years as an Environment Canada meteorologist has provided Geoff with a wealth of experience with the last years of his career dedicated as a Warning Preparedness Meteorologist (WPM). His time as a WPM has allowed him to travel extensively across the province and make contact with a variety of clients including emergency managers/responders, provincial/municipal/county staff and the media, Geoff will also provide a series of lessons-learned from providing thousands of media interviews and presentations, attending hundreds of workshops and conferences, doing dozens of post-storm surveys and emergency exercises, growing the volunteer storm spotter program and fostering the next generation of weather forecasters.
