As in its nature as a consortium,

CMC provides all equipment, me-

ans of work and technical tools,

as well as human and professio-

nal resources, to its partners in

order to complete the job in hand.

For this reason the Consortium is

a contractor with some of the gre-

atest dimensional and technical

potential among those operating

in the Italian and foreign con-

struction markets.

RELIABILITY

CMC operates by recruiting con-

tracts in its own name and in the

interests of its partners to whom

the fulfillment of these contracts

is assigned. The form of a con-

sortium enables the co-existence

of benefits for individual part-

ners, who can operate with gre-

ater commercial potential in a

vaster market, and for the same

Contracting Authorities, that can

collaborate with a partner of high

technical capacity and reliabili-

ty. The most obvious benefits

that derive from a client signing

a contract with a Consortium,

as opposed to a contract with

a traditional enterprise, are as

follows: 1) the ability to opera-

te with a structure of enterprise

which, by its very nature , is par-

ticularly adept at fulfilling the

requirements of the contract. 2)

The certainty of full completion

of the work, even in the case of

serious default of the contractor

(insolvency, bankruptcy, liqui-

dation ), given that the Consor-

tium, as the direct holder of the

contract, still guarantees its con-

tractual provisions by replacing

the assigned partner with ano-

ther partner, or the direct com-

pletion of the work.

OPERATIONAL

SECTORS

WORKS

The acquisition of work and ser-

vices to be assigned to partners

constitutes the principal, esta-

blished activity of CMC. Con-

tributing to the outcome of this

sector is the Works Division, the

Technical Services Directorate

and, subject to competencies,

all other structures of the con-

sortium. The main sectors in

which CMC operates are:

• Civil construction: residential,

service equipment to the com-

munity, for sport, construction

and equipment for industry, tra-

de, services, etc.

• Restoration of architectural

and monumental heritage

• Infrastructural works: roads,

bridges, tunnels, railways, ai-

rports, ports etc.

• Aqueducts, pipelines, sewers,

irrigation systems

• Environmental engineering and

hydraulic protection, dams

• Environmental protection:

equipment for water and waste

treatment

• Works for the production of

energy

• Maintenance and management

of property and installations

MANAGEMENT

OF WORK

The Management System, cer-

tified ISO 9001:2008, is the

result of the application of le-

gislation ISO 9000 with an en-

trepreneurial activity developed

within the consortium in colla-

boration with, and supported

by, the Partners. The System of

Management for Quality of the

Works Sector is set up to ensu-

re that the contracts acquired by

the Consortium are carried out by

Assigned Partners in accordance

with the requirements specified

by contract, including, when fo-

reseen, Quality Assurance requi-

rements, and the meeting of cu-

stomers demands . The activity

of the Works Sector is based on

the following elements :

• CMC is an entrepreneurial

body which acquires work in its

own name, and in the interests

of its partners to whom the un-

dertaking of work is assigned

• The regulatory relationships

between the Consortium and its

Partners during the fulfillment

phase are governed by the Re-

gulation of Assignment and Exe-

cution of Work, and by an act of

assignment

• CMC is responsible for all ad-

ministrative and legal aspects of

the job and the proper selection

of the Assigned Partner

• The Assigned Partner has the

responsibility for the proper exe-

cution of the work assigned to

it, providing technical resources

and the necessary personnel

• CMC carries out monitoring

activities of the commission by

means of checks on the main

parameters that characterize the

management contract itself

• Control of the planning and

construction activities on site is

carried out directly

by the Assigned Partner without

involvement of CMC. The Con-

sortium retains the right of ac-

cess to the site with its own in-

spectors, but exercises this right

only by exception

• CMC has adequate equipment

and financial regulations to en-

sure the proper fulfillment of the

contract by the Assigned Part-

ner, or in order to complete its

contractual obligations in the

event of non-fulfillment by the

Assigned Partner.
